WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A federal judge Tuesday set aside the conviction of former Sen. Ted Stevens.

The judge also initiated criminal contempt proceedings against the government lawyers who prosecuted the 85-year-old Alaska Republican.

He appointed an independent, nongovernment attorney, Henry Schuelke III, to investigate possible prosecutorial misconduct.

Does anyone have any info on which federal prosecutors are named and what their personal history, political affiliations, and patronage obligations appear to be?

Scumbags set out to do what needed to be done. Accuse the Senator of wrongdoing, trump up charges against him BEFORE the election, DemocRAT wins, Ooops! What do you know? The charges were false. Sorry! But DemocRAT still stays where he is.

There is no level of evil that DemocRATS won’t sink. Even Satan is taking notes.

He needed to go but under more honest circumstances namely, the Republicans running a good candidatewho wasn’t a porker.

Still, if they kick the govt. lawyers in the ass for this and hard it might stop this behavior in the future. These people want to work in the private sector someday and you can’t do it having lost your license.

He got "Tom Delay'd". Criminalization of politics.
Two questions he may ask:
"Who do I see to get my reputation back?"
"How can I get my Senate seat back?"

If you listen to the news media, there is Not a peep or positioning from THE GRASS ROOTS, either. It is all hail our lord and saviour Obama, 24/7.

The republicans are making a stink, it is just that there is the same coverage of the republicans as there is of the teaparties, and that is Zero.

Considering the prosecutions took place prior to the elections, they obviously were Bush appointees.

All prosecutors care about is winning. They don’t give a damn about the truth.

And the officials in charge of this, if they can be shown to have acted improperly, SHOULD get jail time. Those people should be held to a much higher standard than average folk. They have a great deal of power and they are not forced into the job.
