The showdown over the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is coming.
The Senate has rejected a conscience clause. Now Catholic hospitals can be forced to commit abortions.
Democrats are caught between their pro-death supporters’ demands and attacking the Catholic Church. They will opt for the latter.
FOCA will force Catholic bishops to choose between federal money and mortal sin, and saying “No!” to murders of convenience by closing their hospitals. They will opt for the latter.
Aided by America’s Catholics, pro abortionists elected the most pro death president in history. Encouraged by this support Democrats are willing to confront Catholic bishops, but it will be a big mistake.
If Congress removes the conscious clause from government contacts with America’s Catholic hospitals and force them to commit abortions it’s in for a big surprise. The bishops won’t cave to FOCA. They’ll fight back.
Arlington’s Bishop Paul Loverde has sent a clear response to the death lobby in Congress. He dared Congress to send jackbooted DoJ thugs after him “I’m not going to close the hospital, you’re going to arrest me, go right ahead. You’ll have to drag me out, go right ahead. I’m not closing this hospital, we will not perform abortions, and you can go take a flying leap.”
The Vatican sees passage of FOCA as “the equivalent of a war” between Obama and the Catholic Church.
St. Louis Auxiliary Bishop Robert Hermann said “any one of us would consider it a privilege to die tomorrow — to die tomorrow — to bring about the end of abortion.”
FOCA plus Obama’s speaking at Notre Dame will cause adherent Catholic anger never seen before. There will be many red and surprised faces across the land. This will be a disaster for the Democrats. Catholic bishops are leading; genuine Catholics will follow..

If the bishops hadn’t allowed for wishy washy theology for the last 30-40 years, this wouldn’t be an issue. Now the hard work begins.... Clean house, call these traitors to the faith OUT, public excommunication for any supporter of abortion and build your army bishop, your gonna need it to fight those inhuman creatures in washington.

They need to coalesce into a march on Washington at some time in the future. I agree a groundswell is happening.
The lesson here is not to take Federal money. As painful as that may be, it’s the only choice they have left.

Their only loyalty is to the cause of Democrat power and they will do whatever is necessary to get it.
Millions of people, including “conservatives” voted for Obama because they thought it was cool and enlightened.

I agree totally. And I’ll add to that, the churches are not going to be able to exhort the people to live as Christians unless they give up their “tax exemption”.
Sad, but these Bishops are probably going to have to stand up to this nonsense and end up going to jail for a time. It will only be then that the people of America will wake up and realize how radical Obama and his minions are when it comes to abortion.
With all due respect to this bishop, it should be noted that he is the bishop in a diocese that doesn't own/operate a single hospital. He admitted as much soon after he made this statement.

....and that is where the rubber meets the road.
The video of a few bishops being hauled off in shackles would be one of the biggest things to empower the pro-life movement ever. Therefore it will only be shown on Fox News and Youtube (at least until Google sends it down the memory hole). The MSM will not allow it to be shown.

I don’t see them arresting bishops, or even doctors who refuse to perform abortions, but I do see them using civil suits to take hospital and clinic property to turn over to abortionists.
Catholic Bishops being incarcerated as political prisoners in American jails for refusing to murder innocent babies will be

The resistance is crackling out here like static electricity. Look at the ammo/gun sales, look at Levin’s book sales, look at the people who never protest, taking to the streets.
The people are charged up. And a switch will be thrown at some point. Most are probably thinking that 2010 will provide an opportunity to thwart the commies. Perhaps, but if it doesn’t, the “charge” will increase by an order of magnitude, if it doesn’t explode right there and then.
Our Pastor is very involved with the Bishops in our area. He told me they will close the hospitals. 25% of all hospital beds are in building with the word Saint on them. You want a health care crisis? We’ll give you one. However, what did Geithner say about “businesses” who’s failure could be a “systemic” crisis?
