Chanting "Give us rain, give us thunder, we won't let the government plunder," a crowd of more than 300 sloshed through puddles to protest what they believe to be government tyranny by dumping two boxes stamped "tea" into Northport Harbor.
"I'm very unhappy with the administration, where they are bringing the country . . . we don't need bigger government," Theresa Baron, 41 of East Northport, said at the Freedom Friday Tea Party. "Let the free enterprise work. The government doesn't have to solve every problem."
The event's sponsoring group, Free America, models itself after the Heritage Foundation, which promotes conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense, tea party organizer John Stevens of Greenlawn said this past week.
Stevens decided to organize the event after hearing about a similar tea party in Cincinnati. Several tea party protests around the nation and Long Island are scheduled for April 15, the last day to file an income tax return. (excerpt) continued here: http://tinyurl.com/cqv9kf

I thought we were all shooting for 4/15 as Tea Party Day
there are tax day parties too.
I have 2 kinds of federal taxes now....the kind I pay to the IRS on April 15th and all the money I lost in my 401ks. you know the kind that people like Barney Fag, Putzhead Schumer and Doooooshbag Soros orchestrated me and everyone else that lost money, just to get useful idiot Barry boy elected.

No reason not to have “lead up” tea parties.
At some point, though, the signs will have to come down, and the pitchforks and torches will have to replace them.

I think 4/15 will be a bellweather day. And I see what you mean: Tea Parties leading up to the Big Nationwide Tea Party are helpful publicity.
There are many Tea Parties happening all over the country. This was just one of many!
