I dunno, in many of the pictures from NY there are a lot of people wearing the headscarves. Makes me think there may be a high percentage of muslims in that center. Why would they come over here to attack muslims?

Besides I would think they would go for a higher profile target and not a community center type place.

Doubt it. The shooter was a recently fired IBM employee from Viet Nam.

Really? If true, it’s a bad sign; I always wondered if they’d start small-scale stuff like car bombings or shooting massacres. But it’s hard to know whether this is true or not.

I wonder how the press/open-borders crowd will spin this, if true.

Sounds plausible.

Psychotic breakdown = Taliban.

Satanic possession = Taliban.

However in this case it’s unlikely that the Vietnamese refugee was Taliban or any other Islamic nutjob, no matter how responsible Islam may be for much of the worlds hateful, psychotic, and purely evil behavior.

OPINION:

What’s in this jihadi’s drinking water?

He said, “They were my men.”

Apparently, only 1 guy did the shooting and he’s dead.

I’m sure the story that the sheethead claimed responsibility is true but I doubt the claim is even remotely true.

True?

I have no doubt he said it. At the same time, he's probably as responsible for the massacre as he is for my ingrown toenail. The guy's either making fun of us or he's trying to increase his profile for fund-raising purposes (the devout donate more if you manage to rack up a high infidel body count). Outside of Islamist fanatic circles, the guy is going to come off as a clown.

It could be... the gooberment and their propaganda machine would never let the truth about anything out. iranian student kills many with a car... innocent act of violence... a bin ladin acolyte kills himself outside of a football game and his apartment is found to be a shrine to bin laden and full of weapons... innocent act of an insane student... Virginia tech... must I go on?

"True?"

Nope, there are many reasons to discount this banter, so many it's not even worth listing them.

while hi-5-ing and kissing rings of fellow Moose limbs in private?

Initial reports suggested Voong had recently been let go from IBM, which was started in Binghamton. But a person at IBM said there was no record of a Jiverly Voong ever working at the company.

(snip)

Friday evening, police who searched the suspected gunman's home carried out three computer hard drives, a brown canvas rifle case, a briefcase, a small suitcase and several paper bags.

A woman who answered the phone at a listing for Henry D. Voong said she was Jiverly Voong's sister but would not give her name. She said her brother had been in the country for 28 years and had citizenship. She said he didn't have a gun and suspected someone else shot her brother.

Google News is Still Wondering What Happened

Look at all the mainstream news reports speculating about why the shooting happened.

What I want to know is why this Vietnamese immigrant qualified for a concealed gun permit in New York. I heard a radio host talking about this issue in detail last night. Long time NY residents cannot get gun permits. Who did this man know with major clout and why was he allowed to carry a gun?

Perhaps the Talibunnies brided an official in NY? Perhaps they kidnapped his girl friend and demanded he kill a few immigrants. I've seen photos of Binghamton with dozens of people dressed like Islamics. Are there a lot of illegal immigrants with Arab roots living there _______ ?

The mainstream media is out to lunch. Obama wants to reach out to the Talibunnies. Thus the MSM will not report this story as news until the source has multiple confirmations.

I would not be surprised to hear that family members suddenly had an increase in the bank accounts recently.

AQ has used the tactic of recruiting certain types of individuals to perform certain acts with promised rewards such as monies to family members.

Its easy to recruit by the internet for AQ, just lurk awhile and start asking around, find persons that are prime candidates, turn the individual into a weapon.

Its no wonder Obama wants to pull the plug on the internet.

Vigilance starts here folks, the enemy could very well be right HERE.

It lurks. Be strong, be vigilant. Its a warzone now.

Photo Slide Show Showing Muslims in Binghampton

But that info is not 'politically correct.' And because Obama wants to embrace the Taliban, the media are not going to investigate this issue.

I feel better already . . . LOL, LOL

One technique used by terrorist groups is to

1) claim they are responsible for an act when they really aren’t and

2) a group that is responsible will claim membership in a terrorist group, even though they have never had any previous contact with said group

Both give an appearance of terrorist groups being wide spread and well organized when, in fact, they may be neither

Do I know for sure about yesterday’s attack - No!! But if seems really unlikely that a vietnamese IBM ex-employee is connected to Pakistani terrorist.

Strange to me that the only identified weapons were a .45, 9mm and a “hunting” knife. The rifle description has yet to be released, maybe some good FReeper can set me straight on this. My guess is that it was NOT an evil “black rifle with a pistol grip (gasp!)”.

If it turns out that it was a bolt action “deer rifle” my question is still why doesn’t anyone rush these idiots??!! It’s mindset and we have been successfully programmed to not resist, do whatever the perp commands, be obedient. Not making light here at all, just very frustrated.

Yet, we do have outstanding examples of ordinary citizens taking action against violent criminals, the first section of American Rifleman I alway read is the armed citizen section. I’m always humbled and amazed at how quick thinking they elder citizens are, many in their 80s and some in their 90s, now THOSE are good examples!

Could be. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1994613/posts.

There evidently are a lot of them in the area and the perp may have gotten connection to them somehow.
