Lets all let CBS 60 Minutes know that they really messed up, leaving the Odinga/Obama link out of this story!

Pfah. Regardless of what chemical is being used, I can name a chemical that will kill them deader than a wedge, and will never be banned:
automobile antifreeze (ethylene glycol). It is sweet, animals readily ingest it when it is laid out with bait and it ALWAYS causes renal failure.
By the time the animal is dead, it is so far away from any bait trap that it is impossible to prove intent or even the act itself.

Unbelievable. A whole story about the type of poison that's used - used in a manner that it's not intended and clearly not used according to manufacturers instructions.
If the ranchers had used just plain old rat poison, would this even be a story to 60 Minutes? Probably not. Heck, they could pour coffee grinds on the carcasses. Coffee is HIGHLY toxic to felines of all sizes. Would 60 Minutes then do a 20 minute hit piece of Folgers Breakfast Blend?
Bob Simon is a putz. He's the guy who compared Israel's defense of it's citizens to apartheid in South Africa. No shame, no class and no clue for Mr. Simon.

Why are they even doing a story on Kenya anyway? Oh, yeah, I forgot — our president is from there.

Hey, I do not like it that lions are being deliberately poisoned, in Kenya, as a way to protect livestock. When guns and shovels are banned....

Hey, I do not like it that lions are being deliberately poisoned, in Kenya, as a way to protect livestock. Make ya feel uncomfortable, does it?
One does what one has to do to survive.
Put yourself in their shoes for a minute.

That was a rather pointless piece. But it follows the same logical path that our society uses to place the blame for crimes on everyone except for the individual who actually committed the crime.

I didn't watch this segment because I knew it would break my heart as I love and appreciate wildlife particularly the more majestic types such as African Lions or Indian Tigers.
It might be interesting to note that both the former Rhodesia and the former South Africa had by far the best conservation programs of any of the countries on the continent. The great beasts of Africa were flourishing in both countries and were to a very great degree protected from poachers. As least they were protected as best as they could be in such a vast area.
The conservation programs of both countries are destroyed by the change in governments. It was predictable. So all the World Wildlife Funds and other organizations run by good liberals who supported the changes this is what you get.
