New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

Different in the sense that “Long Valley” is replete with Mormon families whose lineage dates back to the original founders of the region. Their livelihood is based on two things. Farming and tourism. They are quite isolated in many ways, however have learned how to appreciate/accommodate outsiders and our approach to doing business. And, they put up with me. That's the best part.

Colorcountry may have a slightly different slant, however she comes from one of the small towns, just up the road a piece.

Well I agree that they can certainly be very nice people, but what does that mean spiritually exactly?

I think the crux of the problem is that they are evangelizing with an admittedly different gospel that very clearly contradicts our bible ,and then getting upset when Christians point out the differences. Then they expand that to make the claim that we hate them, which is untrue.

People still think that they can attain heaven by good works and deeds, and advance themselves along the course by their own righteousness, but that is not what God says

As God is no respecter of persons, He will judge all of us and Paul, once again has this to say:

Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

See that? The Christ of Paul's gospel, not Joseph Smith's gospel

Brigham Young threatened: "I say, rather than that apostates should flourish here, I will unsheath my bowie knife and conquer or die. (Great commotion in the congregation, and a simultaneous burst of feeling, assenting to the declaration.) Now, you nasty apostates, clear out, or judgment will be put to the line, and righteousness to the plummet. (Voices, generally, 'go it, go it.') If you say it is right, raise your hands. (All hands up.) Let us call upon the Lord to assist us in this, and every good work" (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p.83)

Herod was not one of us. Brigham Young was one of your FOUNDERS. Enough said.

Seems like this site is being taken over by religious extremest and this thread is a good example of what I mean. Childish bickering about my god is better than your god while this country is headed towards socialism and our enemies prepare to attack us again. Sad.

How do you decide which book of the bible to keep and which to ignore?

In the Mormon doctrine there is only one god, just several of them...

Yep. And then they complain that the whole Trinity 3-in-1 thing doesn’t make sense.

They don’t believe in a Trinity, they believe in a multiplicity, with councils and such.

LDS view: “we only have one God, but there are many Gods, and God had a God, and we will be Gods, but there is still only ONE God, who is really 3 different Gods (except the one that doesn’t have a body yet, he will be a God later), but the 3 separate Gods act as ONE God, and there is only one (really the 3) God that is our God.”

I am from Panguitch, from several of the families that have been there since the beginning in 1864. 100% of our town were Mormon (many jack mormons), but because of tourism to the National Parks, and recreation sites in the area, I was exposed to many different peoples and ideas.

I think it was that exposure that set me on the road to leaving Mormonism. It has been pretty difficult becoming the “outcast.”

No...your the one that's kidding, right?

I read what you wrote when you were slumming with your posse.

Do you REALLY think Jim Rob started this thread to gain greater donations?

You've certainly solidified your lock on the two-faced award...

Congrats!

Acts 13 forward says that Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit. So which part of Acts do you accept and which part do you claim is degraded?

Good point, but I would suggest that you are missing the MAIN point.

Mormons aren't just recruiting, they are INFILTRATING OUR RELIGION IN AN ATTEMPT TO POLLUTE IT. They are publicly trying to "DUMB DOWN" Christianity.

Their leaders for hundreds of years have proclaimed they aren't Christians, and their actions and teachings have proven it.

When a Mormon claims to be a Christian, they take away from MY GOD, They belittle MY SAVIOR, and they should expect a fight. Mormons will not do to Christianity what the Gay lobby did to the rainbow, NOT ON MY WATCH.

"There are those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints do not believe in the traditional Christ. No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.” – LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley (LDS Church News, June 20, 1998)

I agree totally and I am ashamed I allowed my self to get suck into this facade!

I apologized for the Lord loves all of his children and will bless all of us if we honor his commandments and do his will to the best of our knowledge.

Be of Good Cheer!

Maybe is better for me to be just a plain-ol-Christian.

All those myriad Gods and Godlings and Godlets and demi-Gods-yet-to-be would confuse the crap out of me.

Incorrect again, but you keep telling yourself that in order to “preserve your testimony.”

The LDS cannot fathom that anyone would be HAPPIER and a BETTER PERSON outside the LDS Church. So instead, you accuse those who have found the truth of ‘sinning’, ‘never having a testimony’, etc. Ad hominum attacks are SOP for the LDS, especially against us Exer’s.

John 6:39

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing , but should raise it up again at the last day.

You may not have called for Sevenbak’s banning or hit the abuse button, but someone did. Because of that, we've lost yet another in a long line of arch conservatives here at FR. For me, that's beyond sad.

**********************

I doubt that Sevenbak was banned/suspended because someone hit the abuse button. Sevenbak made some remarks on other sites that are most likely what resulted in his banning/suspension.

As for the rest of your post, this is a forum, and the overly sensitive may not be at home here. Not everyone welcomes debate. However, what really makes me sad is that so many in our country seem to have become too willing to yield the fight to the Left. Our forefathers would be struck dumb if they could see what this country has become, and how little it takes for someone on an internet forum to give up and slink away. Now that's sad.

Yeah and many of the Mormon members of FR would call you a liar for saying that. I already know there’s more to Mormonism than what they let on. The outcasts exist in St. George and Hurricane too. It’s not just small towns, it’s everywhere Mormons run the show.

They might make a great voting block and great FBI agents but it’s not a good religion.
