I am from Panguitch, from several of the families that have been there since the beginning in 1864. 100% of our town were Mormon (many jack mormons), but because of tourism to the National Parks, and recreation sites in the area, I was exposed to many different peoples and ideas.
I think it was that exposure that set me on the road to leaving Mormonism. It has been pretty difficult becoming the “outcast.”
Yeah and many of the Mormon members of FR would call you a liar for saying that. I already know there’s more to Mormonism than what they let on. The outcasts exist in St. George and Hurricane too. It’s not just small towns, it’s everywhere Mormons run the show.
They might make a great voting block and great FBI agents but it’s not a good religion.
