Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Defense Secretary Robert Gates; Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper; Edwin Feulner, president of the Heritage Foundation.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner; Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): President Barack Obama.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN) : Gen. David Petraeus, head of U.S. Central Command; Richard Holbrooke, U.S. envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan; Sens. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C.
It is not money to them that is the problem it is like paper to them and figures on paper with no real meaning
Well...Geithner managed to BS his way through MTP, with wussy Gregory’s help.
The Prime Minister of Canada is far more intelligent and far better spoken than the guy in the white house.
LOL... great post! Take good care of your BP... ;-)
The Wall Street Journal leads its online-only coverage today with a look at dwindling TARP funds and puts its own math up against that of the U.S Treasury Department. According to the department, there’s about $134.5 billion left in its financial-rescue fund, meaning that about 81 percent of the $700 billion program has been committed. However, according to Dow Jones Newswires calculations, which were seconded by Goldman Sachs, the government has only $52 billion or so left.
And Gordon Brown said nothing in response, why??
Does ole Gordo have BROWN eyes? pffffffffft
I love your MP that took him to task last week at the EU meeting.
That was a brilliant bit of wordsmanship.
ANd it turns out he Listens to Sean Hannity as well.
Oh...and I forgot to add that his statement, coming from a Brazilian is quite ironic, considering Brazil is where a lot of Nazis escaped to after WW11.
Very nice...very genuine.
I re-invited him to come take a tour of The Old Guard and the Tomb Of The Unknown. (I had made this offer to him before on his show once when I called in).
He told me to get ahold of him at Landmark Legal.
His wife was there with him...very nice lady.
Gordo did nothing but sit there with a goofy grin on his face and take it.
I would assume he had nothing to rebut the truth that he was being confronted with.
“Brazil is where a lot of Nazis escaped to after WW11.”
I was wondering if maybe he was making reference to the large amount of offspring that populate his country from escaped NAZI’s.
But I have a feeling he wasn’t.
I am listening to him now.
First, did you know his daughter’s in quite a bit of deep do-do with some conservative female types? Which she deserves, her porky self.
Second, McCain says AIG deserved all the public anger.
Hey, CONGRESS DESERVES JUST AS MUCH ANGER and McCain knows it. Dodd and Frank and all them orchestrated that foray into social rearrangement which caused the banking system to collapse and please don’t tell McCain didn’t know, don’t dare tell me he didn’t know.
I understand they have head hairs that must not be mussed; that their nails are polished to a spit-shine, that their tans are perfect for the DC cocktail parties that they must attend. Not to mention their many “friends” across the aisle. Pubs always have friends across the aisle, you never hear Dems saying that.
But we have no effective opposition party because Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were wreaking their havoc when the PUBS WERE IN THE MAJORITY! bush even tried an attempt at overhauling them but no backing from the congression pubs because of the tans, head hairs and friends across the aisle.
I wonder if that will be the topic o late night jokes all next week like a certain former President’s pronunciation of Nuclear.
Good grief, Nina Easton makes more sense this morning that Bill Kristol.
Kristol formed his idea of the Geithner plan by talking to some people. Easton has apparently done some actual homework.
“Second, McCain says AIG deserved all the public anger.”
And he wonders why we Conservatives can’t stand him.
How about being angry at having a sitting President whip up a mob to go and intimidate and frighten hard working Americans IN THEIR HOMES!!!
As always Cpt. Queeg’s anger is aimed at the wrong people.
When he was on Hannity’s TV show it was quite funny as it seemed to me that he was really angling for a return visit. Really praising Hannity’s show and FNC saying that there is nothing like it on British TV which of course is quite true.
“saying that there is nothing like it on British TV which of course is quite true.”
I thought Sky News was your Fox equivalent?
Absolutely sleuthy, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuelia are full of them and their decedents.
