Predation Did Not Come from Evolution
by Daniel Criswell, Ph.D.*
Although the origin of predation is poorly understood, it is incorrect to attribute to young-earth creation the assertion that predatory animals quickly and recently evolved the physical features necessary for predation. It is a common fallacy that carnivores evolved from a change in form and function. No physical evolution was required to change herbivores to predators--it was merely a change in behavior.
The view that an alteration of genomes and phenotypes, such as sharp teeth and claws, would have been required to supply the physical features for predation from herbivorous features common in plant-eating animals is not correct. The shape of the teeth, the ability to run fast for short distances, and all the other physical attributes given to predators can be used for acquiring plant food sources as well. A few examples of mammal diets will verify this quite well...

Come on genius... point out the “facts” of evolution so we can all see how smart you are and be enlightened.
I’m with you, Kevin. The 6000 crowd just feeds the lib/media frenzy of portraying Christians as idiots.
Evol-ers crack me up! :-)
People who believe the young earth tend to be simpletons..
Show me the "facts" of the Earth being created 6000 years ago.
Ever heard of parables?
Species change over time.. It doesn’t change overnight. For example look at the human race. It change and splintered for god knows how long.. Also how in the heck can a species really start from just 2 people??
A basher of science, delusional, and willfully ignorant, but I think moron is a little strong.
“Evol-ers crack me up! :-)”
Could it be their laughable distortion of science and their militant defense of the indefensible?
Or is it their awesome Star-Trek like dry wit?
They come on all these threads spewing venom like a spitting cobra. I’m trying to laugh... honest.
I maybe be a little harsh, but that is how I feel...
What we all share is an ability to digest carbohydrates (sugars/starches), proteins and fats/oils. That comes in various degrees and may be augmented by bacteria so that we can digest high order sugars such as those found in wood.
On the other hand that ability ranges from 0% expression all the way to 100% expression.
Your typical prey animal eats lots of carbs and oils. Your typical predator animal eats lots of protein and fats.
Even among humans there are vast differences. Far Northern peoples almost universally express diabetes upon encountering a diet rich in carbohydrates. Clearly it is our fate to subsist on beluga whale, seals and fish.
Yet others begin perishing when the amount of protein in the diet exceeds 40% over a long enough period of time.
And just where is the center of the universe, KevinDavis? Educate "an moron."
But they can’t you see...they demand evidence but give nothing but “God did it”
If all else fails in their worldeview...god did it.
Now that is not to say there is no GOD.
GOD is compatible with evolution.
The Old Testament was written for primitive people to understand a greater message. As far as Genesis, just how long was a “day” to God? A day? A million years? A billion?
==I am a God-fearing Catholic. Evolution is not incompatible with Christianity. The 6000 year people make all Christians look like idiots.
Actually, it’s the other way around. It’s the so-called Christian Evos who make God out to be a liar. Shame on you!
Some people think you have to go to some middle eastern hellhole to find ignorant religious zealonts that preach their way or the highway.
The people who don't think you should handle snakes or drink deadly poison are denying the scriptures, too.
Eagles are predators, and goats aren’t. So that example doesn’t work.
