After repeatedly vilifying conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for saying he hopes that President Obamas liberal policies fail, the Democrat Party apparently may be trying to make another mountain out of a molehill -- this one involving Karl Rove.
Rove, a former adviser to President George W. Bush, described President Barack Obama as arrogant in a recent interview with Fox Newss Bill OReilly.
"I've always said I think he's kind of an arrogant guy," Rove said during his analysis of Obamas prime-time press conference on Tuesday, Mar. 24.
The next day, March 25, the Democratic National Committee called Roves statement incredible -- coming from a man who helped lead one of the most secretive and arrogant presidential administrations in American history.
If Karl Rove wants to call someone arrogant, perhaps he and Dick Cheney should look in the mirror," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a news release on Wednesday.
By Thursday, the DNC had produced a Web video on Roves groundless and hypocritical statement calling President Obama arrogant.
The Web video lists various examples of alleged Bush administration arrogance (i.e., Mission Accomplished) and it ends with the words, Pot. Kettle. Black.
In its Wednesday press release, the DNC displayed some arrogance of its own in presuming to say what the American people want:
The only thing the America people are interested in right now is the type of measured, informed action the President detailed last night to stabilize and grow the economy, improve health care and education, create green jobs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. They are not interested in the musings of the men who, more than anyone else, are responsible for creating the challenges we currently face," said DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse.
For those Americans who might be interested in Roves musings, heres the context of Roves comments to Bill OReilly that so inflamed the DNC:
Rove was making the point that Obama, at his press conference, was looking for as many ways as possible to boost support for his multi-trillion-dollar budget plan. He kept coming back to his budget proposals.
Do you think he knows that he bloviated all over the place, that he was repetitive: do you think he knows, does he want to do that? OReilly asked Rove.
Well, I dont know, Rove responded. Look, Ive always said I think hes sort of an arrogant guy. I think he thinks that, Im showing how much Im in command of this material, and how on top I am, and Im doing the right thing by reciting talking points and by saying things that are simply not true.
Rove said he couldnt believe that Obama who is proposing to add $9.3 trillion to the national debt in the next ten years talked about moving from an era of borrow and spend to save and invest. Ballooning the deficit by trillions of dollars is 'save and invest'? Rove asked.
Exhibit A in the story of people who have entirely too much time and money on their hands.
Obama is arrogant. I’d say atleast 60% of Americans agree.
I’d say “The Ministry of Truth” is shaping up quite nicely.
Obama is arrogant.
I generally think that Rove is arrogant as well.
Obama has been diagnosed with narcissitic personality disorder.
That means we should mock him as much as we can!
It’s worth noting that the DNC began demonizing Karl Rove after it became clear to them that attacking Rush Limbaugh was a complete disaster.
Liberals always have a lot of time on their hands. Conservatives have real jobs.
Villilying? As far as I can see, it’s Limbaugh 10, the Obamaloon - 0.
Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals.
“Demonizing Individual Republicans”
So, in the liberals’ view, it’s:
Oppose Bush and hope he fails = patriotic, heroic, noble
Oppose Obama and hope he fails = treason, racist, un-American
Fair is fair. Rove demonized his fellow Reps who were against amnesty calling them bigots and nativists.
But Rove and Chaney have measurable IQs (arrogant or not). Name an Obamaloon Loon-O-Tic (tm) cabinet member who could pass a simple algebra class.
they are already after Cheney.....I saw get more pubbies out there for them to demonize....bring it on.
I say
Rush is a Conservative, not a Republican. Me too.
I agree....Rove did a lot of trashing of those who didnt support the Illegal Alien Amnesty bill.
And also went after GOP members who did not support the Bush Bailout.
Ol’ Pear Head should never be mentioned in the same breath as Rush....that is affront to Rush
Does anyone (at least on this side of the spectrum) now doubt that Obama is not totally governing by Alinsky’s rules?
