FRESNO/CENTRAL VALLEY TEA PARTY!
When: April 15th, 2009
Where: Fresno Save Mart Center
Time: 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM

This event is being organized by the grassroots efforts of Fresno citizen Melissa Wheeler Courtney in conjunction with California State Tax Day Tea Party Coordinator, Mark Meckler, (mark@mecklermail.com) and Chris Daniel of KMJ AM Radio 580.
Fresno is joining an estimated 600 cities across America in making our collective voices heard by throwing a huge Tea Party/Tax Protest. It is projected that we could get a crowd of 5,000 people together in Fresno! Wouldn't that be awesome? With KMJ promoting this, who knows how big this could be?
This is still in the early planning stages and Melissa is asking for volunteer help:
"We do need your help with Volunteers and spreading the word.
We need people to donate business cards we can give out with our website's info.
We also need people to bring bumper stickers, picket signs, banners, noise makers
We need a web site designer to donate their time
We need people to help contact all the media outlets - Radio, TV, News, Online news, and newspapers

It's time to end the increasingly oppressive Federal income tax code by passing The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296). The Fair Tax will replace all federal income taxes with a national sales/consumption tax and abolish the IRS.

Excellent we ate also having one in Santa Barbara and another in Ventura no far away! They are all over the place down here on the 15th. Some that usually have to travel long distances for such events are finding they are in their hometown :-). TEA!!!!

Are you still planning to go to the Sacramento Tea Party? We will be having a Tax Day Tea Party in your own back yard. We wanted to go to Sacramento, but we have to get back to work on Thursday, so that's just too far for us to travel.
KMJ's Chris Daniel and CA's Tax Day Tea Party Coordinator, Mark Meckler, are estimating that we could have upwards to 5,000 show up for Fresno's Tea Party. Isn't that great? I am really excited about this!

That’s great that the Tea Parties are being held all over. There is no reason for people to have to drive several hours to get to one.

Great! Didn’t take long for the word to spread. This morning we had no location decided. This all took place this afternoon, thanks to a feisty Fresnan, Melissa Courtney, and her persistence in getting a location secured for the event and media involvement, and thanks to KMJ’s Chris Daniel, who has agreed to help do whatever he can to promote this, and it’s already on the CBS 47’s website. This is good!
