Look at this diorama in the Smithsonian depicting the seas of the Silurian, the period preceding the Devonian: crinoids, trilobites, corals and nautiloids, but no fish. It may be time to change the artwork and the textbooks. A fully-finned fish, jaws and all, has been found in Silurian rock in China.

I teach a course on the history of life. There have been fish remains from the Cambrian and Ordovician Periods(even earlier than the Silurian). Paleontologists have known this for a long time.
Only creationists are confused by fossils but that’s because they’re so ignorant (and full of hubris by thinking that never having actually studied a subject, other then reading a few ridiculous Christian books, makes them an expert). I alway thought hubris and deceit weren’t really Christian virtues but they’re exhibited daily by creationists. Hardly worth arguing about since no amount of evidence will sway people blinded by ideology.
Or they have deemed it a fake cause we all know man ain’t that old.

I don’t know about human prints, but during the investigations on the Blackhawk Ranch, in the 1970s several tons of conflicting fossils were ordered destroyed, and buried by bulldozers. One laborer was even arrested for trying to preserve some of them.
How do you reconcile the evidence that creatures died millions of years ago here with your spiritual beliefs that nothing died until 4000 b.c. when Adam fell?
