What do you know about the history of this clip? I read that a kid’s book illustrator found it somewhere and that it is not new.

Obama's statement is from a 1995 interview. You can read the details via a blog
here; unfortunately the audio recordings that had been linked are no longer available at RedState. A longer excerpt: "My individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country. Unfortunately I think that recognition requires that we make sacrifices and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices necessary to bring about a new day and a new age."

So when 0 raised his right hand and swore to defend the constitution was it his first lie as president or his last lie as a U.S. Senator?
The statement about the "tragedy" of the failure of the Founding Fathers to mandate redistribution of wealth through the Constitution, made on public radio, should have disqualified Obama from ever serving in any Constitutionally designated office.

That you very much. It distresses me that a surprisingly lot of evangelical thought is going in this direction, goo. That the Bible does not talk so much about individual salvation as it does group/national/tribal salvation. Misguided thought of the times.

Let me try that again. THANK you very much. It distresses me that a surprisingly lot of evangelical thought is going in this direction, goo. That the Bible does not talk so much about individual salvation as it does group/national/tribal salvation. Misguided thought of the times.

Looks like the audio is also at
YouTube. If that doesn't work input "1995 Obama Interview Race" at Google and you should pull up more info.

Yeah, I remember this—the ‘nad-less GOP really played this up last year-not.
If Meghan McCain had really wanted to be of help, she could have put down her cheesesteak and talked about this to all her “hip” young followers......

RELAX everyone. This same plan worked in Zimbabwe with the white farmers. Look how the country is flourishing.
