Zogby: Obama's Job Performance Drops Under 50%

Those Saying U.S. Headed in Right Direction Continue to Increase, Now 45%

However, Obama's Job Performance Drops Under 50%

UTICA, NY - A March 20-23 Zogby Interactive survey shows 45% of likely voters believe the nation is headed in the right direction, a gain of five points from a similar survey completed on March 5. At the beginning of the year, only 14% held that positive view.

However, President Barack Obama's ratings for job performance and favorability did not improve over earlier this month. In the most recent survey, 49% rate his job performance as excellent or good and 50% as fair or poor (less than 1% were not sure.) That is a dip of three points from the previous poll. The percentages who feel very or somewhat favorable toward Obama remained unchanged between the two polls, with 55% now and 56% in the previous poll.

There are still huge partisan differences in opinions about Obama. For example, 91% of Democrats rate Obama favorably, compared to 14% of Republicans. On Obama's job performance, 87% of Democrats grade it as excellent or good, compared to 9% of Republicans.

Sample size of the survey was 4,523, with a margin of error of  +/- 1.5%.  Margins of error are higher in sub-groups.

This table shows attitudes about the nation's direction from Zogby Interactive polls this year:

Is the nation headed in the right or wrong direction?

March 23

March 5

Jan. 26

Jan. 8

14%

Wrong Direction

47%

48%

45%

70%

Not Sure

19%

16%

The movement toward "right direction" from January 8, prior to the Obama Inauguration, to January 26 came from Obama voters, and that has continued. For example, these are the increases in those choosing "right direction" between the March 5 poll and this most recent one: Democrats +9, Obama voters +8, liberals +7 and African-Americans +13.

There has been virtually no change in the direction question among Republican base voters. Choosing "right direction" in the most recent survey were: Republicans 9%, McCain voters 5% and conservatives 6%. Among Born-again Christians, 32% chose "right direction", an increase of 6 points from Jan. 26.

Meaning: Rahm insists he’s Barack’s boyfriend and the two had a baby together? ;-)
_________

No baby yet, just boyfriend right now. The Kenyan and the little ballerina in the oval office late at night. That’s enough to make me nauseous for a month at least.

Will it? Look at the bottom chart. 45% of those polled think that the country is going in right direction, a steady increase from an all-time low in January and no doubt the previous months. Those people are nuts. Obama can do just fine with an approval below 50% for quite a while, even if that means a small majority of the country is against him. The direction that the country is headed as a result of Democrat policies hasn’t dawned on enough people yet. They will still buy into the line that Bush is to blame for everything and therefore Obama should be held accountable for nothing.

Obama is turning out to be everything I thought he was: an arrogant, humorless, ignorant, strutting leftist peacock who has no idea how a free-market, capitalist system works and who is trying frantically to shove his socialist agenda on an unsuspecting, celebrity-stricken country.

"hope"

That might be the worst thing Dems/leftists do. They tell gullible Americans that manna and jobs are coming from Washington to save them instead of telling people like the unemployed young man to get off his keister and get himself a job. But you'll never hear that (the latter) from this admin or any Dem admin. So when the manna doesn't fall from heaven, the young are disillusioned and lose all hope.

Gallup has Obama at 63% approval, and consumer mood at 67% negative.

How does that square with this poll?

To paraphrase the old “there are liars, d#@n liars, and statisticians”, I think we can say “there are liars, d#@n liars and pollsters”

Those who have drunk so deeply of the Kool Aid will be loathe to ever admit what a disaster this clown is. His numbers among Democrats, no matter what he does or says, no matter how disastrous are his programs, will remain high and all his failures will, of course, be blamed on the Republicans and their obstructionist ways.

Pretty simple actually. before the moron took office EVERY liberal believed we were headed in the WRONG direction and now that the “One” is in the WH those same people believe all is well.

So when the manna doesn’t fall from heaven, the young are disillusioned and lose all hope.

Unless of course, manna does fall from heaven in the form of tax credits, make-work government jobs (Americorps), free or subsidized college education, and even welfare. You’re right that the Dems won’t tell these kids to grow up—when they grow up, they will inevitably get more conservative. So the goal is to keep them immature and dependent—so they vot Democratic for as long as possible.

Because they have no idea who it is they are supposed to believe in.

Thus was the goal of "post-modernism".

Zogby occasionally sends me email polls. I consistently poll conservative. He knows he can count on me to always vote the same way so he sends me a poll when he needs me. At least that is how I have it figured.

Most are under 30. The young folks are completely fooled by Barry and his band of socialists. Too much liberal training in the schools. Eventually they will see the light.

Remember that the difference in the election was just over 5 million votes. That can be overcome with truth.

Can anyone tell me why 32% of born-again Christians in the survey think the country is headed in the right direction? It doesn’t make much sense to me.

Well, this would be tortured logic, but my tagline would explain one such line of reasoning. (Sometimes the right direction for the people of a country is to beat some sense into them for their follies...)

“You asked if there’s a Christian litmus test. The Bible says the litmus test is the fruit one produces.”

Yes, I know—that’s a biblical allegory. However, many posters here seem to have their own litmus tests, or Christian checklists, it you will. It all comes down to how the individual tester interprets “fruit”.
