Today, Tiller pointed to his 1999 conversations with Buening and claimed he said it would be alright for Neuhaus to sign off on the abortions in a potential violation of state law. "He said, 'Why don't you use Kris Neuhaus and that will take care of all of your problems,'" Tiller testified. Based on abortion in Kansas, this is probably true.

"[State Prosecuting Attorney]Disney reminded the jury that any reasons or excuses Monnat would give them for why Tiller broke the law simply point to the fact that Tiller broke the law."
"Today, Tiller pointed to his 1999 conversations with Buening and claimed he said it would be alright for Neuhaus to sign off on the abortions in a potential violation of state law. "He said, 'Why don't you use Kris Neuhaus and that will take care of all of your problems,'" Tiller testified."
First, as you said, it probably IS true that he said it. However, contrary to what Tiller contends it's not like that makes it any less illegal. In fact, as the man from the Pro-Life group points out, it just makes them look even WORSE. A conversation like that could only really have come up if Tiller was complaining how the law caused him "problems".
All of this reminds me of a passage from Proverbs (paraphrased):
Don't put in with thieves who say "we'll share the booty" because they lay in wait for themselves, and their snares will capture their own feet...
(I'm having trouble finding the exact verse on BibleGateway.com as I remember the "olde English" of the verse, or it's paraphrased too much in my memory, and it's not coming up with a search... If anyone on the thread knows what verse I'm recalling please let me know... I'll be scanning and looking through to find it myself later this afternoon regardless... :) ).
In trying to lay the blame elsewhere Tiller has been caught in his OWN SNARE! Praise God that men like him eventually get justice - if not here on Earth then where it REALLY counts... before GOD.

Tiller said during the trial that the head of the state medical board authorized him to use a second physician who worked for him. That's not a defense. It's an admission of guilt to the original charge, and conspiracy.
