Naw, sorry Conservy Gal... we just live a few minutes away in my blue hovel. :-D If it should occur that you get stuck with over-costs, I pledge - I'm sure along with other FReepers - that you will get 'contributions' to ease/cancel the burden.

It's always fun when freepers get together....read the link about the astonishing hotel....bring your ideas for brainstorming meetings.....bring your significant others.....hit Sea World for a day after the convention.......have some R & R with FR........wow, what more can I say!
I'll be there a night early for dinner with other early birds. Maybe an exotic tropical adult beverage at poolside after a casual outside din-din?

Hi Roos ... what is the procedure for making our reservations in order to get the group rate, as well as to make sure we get proper credit? I’m sitting here now ready to call in our reservation.

There is no procedure yet. I needed to get a head count first; my original correspondence with the hotel was supposing that we’d be able to book 50 rooms. So, the rate that’s been quoted is based on that number being booked. I’ve gotten a committment of around 20 (see my about page for exact numbers and members). I have asked for everyone to let me know by tomorrow morning whether they will want a room or not. I will have to contact the hotel again and see if they will still give us that rate if we can only guarantee 20 rooms.
I will update everyone on what they say; hopefully they’ll think that 20 rooms plus 30 or so of us eating two meals there in the hotel will be worth it! I’m pretty good at negotiating, so I’m staying confident that they’ll still give us the $99 rate.
The First lady and I can make the Saturday am, but can't stay the evening. When do the festivities start on Saturday, so that we can be there bright and early?

So all I can tell you is to bookmark the thread and check it from time to time. All will be revealeth unto you. Right now we're doing reservations.
At any rate, I would suggest an early arrival at the hotel Saturday morning for coffee with freepers and a gawking tour around this fascinating hotel.
Why don't you and the First Lady plan on staying over night.....it's a long round trip to make in one day. Plus, the day will be convention business and Saturday evening will be THE night for freeper fun and fellowship.....and political talk and hair-raising tales from seasoned freeper veterans.

I do support the Orlando convention in spirit. Make sure and get email addys and phone numbers there. A FR notebook is a good thing to start.
