Ammunition update in California & What You Can Do!
Please read and see how this will apply to all of us.
Long Beach City Council to Vote on Ammunition Registration Tuesday
March 24
Please Make Your Opposition Heard!
On Tuesday, March 24, the Long Beach City Council is set to vote on whether to draft an ordinance to force ammunition sellers in Long Beach to record the identity of all ammunition purchasers, as well as other details of the sales transaction. These records would then be collected and used by the Long Beach Police Department to identify purchasers who are legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.
This ordinance will do nothing to reduce crime. It is simply an attempt to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
The results of previous ammunition registration experiments have been so dismal that other cities have abandoned these schemes rather than pay to maintain them.
The ordinance is also illegal. These ammunition registration ordinances are preempted by state law and constitute an unconstitutional infringement on the Second Amendment.
Your help is needed to defeat this proposal. Please call and email the Long Beach City Council and/or attend the City Council meeting on March 24, 2009 and voice your opposition. Tell your neighbors to do the same. For contact information for the Long Beach City Council, please click here.

To save time, below I have complied a list of the Long Beach Council members and their contact info. Please voice your opposition to this proposal; Call, E-mail and Fax these council members, and help us defeat this. This is very costly and totally ineffective against crime, Different cities have tried this very same thing before and in EVERY case they have dropped it because it did nothing but waist time and money.......... If this passes in L.B. your city could be next, and it may not be just ammo you have to register for... ............... PLEASE PASS THIS ON.................... _________________________________________________________________

Good luck with that. Everyone around here thinks "Tea Party" demonstrations/protests will make the politicians wake up and support their oath of office. How's that worked out so far? Any MSM coverage regarding the gist of the effort? Any politicians changing their mind because of "Tea Partys"?
They have no clue that the situation is now WAY beyond such feel-good gatherings. This, from a person who used to lead and participate in street activism. It's too late for the above, but I give them kudos for trying. Personally, I'm in a holding pattern...
I’m just saying that if they wanted to register my ammunition they’d have to come and do it themselves; and they probably would register some ammunition in the event.
I know precisely what you are saying. Maybe you should think about a "holding pattern", also.
lol. I heard about it on Craig’s List. there was apparently, a group of highschoolers who met every day after school at 4:20 PM to smoke pot, and that’s where it came from . the things you learn!
Wow, where can you get an education like this??
Maybe when we stop paying taxes...and start massive impeachment proceedings.
agreed every conservative not republican needs to get out of there and move to a swing state like CO,NM,NV,VA,NC,FL, thus making those swing states more red.
If every conservative did that then those red states would be solid red for years to come plus increase those electoral numbers.
We’d never wion CA and it’s now a lost cause
obama never works weekends, has concert on a Wednesday, Friday night is date night and in between he is going on things like Leno, ESPN, 60 minutes, and campaign style town hall meetings.
this idiot has no clue what he is doing and is , well has to be the laziest president in the history of this country
He’s not MY president until he shows us his birth certificate......
I'm leaving for TX.
Anyone know how this turned out? Or all they still debating?

WATCH THE VOTE HERE! FYI, the Full Auto Ban Amendment to the 1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act never REALLY passed! It was just on a voice vote, and the Nays WAY outweighed the Yeas on the Amendments adoption ballot! I heard it! Tip ONeal just PROCLAIMED that it passed, to the GASPS of many in attendence, and the minority Repubs could not challenge him because of the parlimentary rules in effect at the time! HONEST! History!
I never heard it before...thanks.
I’m sorry, I got an email from the mayor saying he was withdrawing the item from the agenda. Yeah!!
