New Report Predicts "New Global Ice Age"

ROCKVILLE, MD--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 23, 2009 -- MarketResearch.com has announced the addition of Unit Economics' new report "The New Global Ice Age," to their collection of Energy/Environment market reports. For more information, visit http://www.marketresearch.com/redirect.asp?progid=67618&productid=2069052.

Abstract of Unit Economics' Report: "New Global Ice Age"

"At first glance, a research piece predicting significantly colder weather seems rather bold. In reality, we're very confident about this report. That's because we are not so much predicting colder weather, but are instead observing it. More important, we're attempting to coax our readers to view recent weather data and trends with a neutral perspective -- unbiased by the constant barrage of misinformation about global warming. We assure you, based on the accuracy of climatologists' long-term (and short-term!) forecasts, you would not even hire them!

"For example, in 1923 a Chicago Tribune headline proclaimed: 'Scientist says arctic ice will wipe out Canada.' By 1952, the New York Times declared 'Melting glaciers are the trump card of global warming.' In 1974, Time Magazine ran a feature article predicting 'Another Ice Age,' echoed in a Newsweek article the following year. Clearly, the recent history of climate prediction inspires little confidence -- despite its shrillness. Why, then, accept the global warming thesis at face value? Merely because it is so pervasive?

"Unfettered by the Gore-Tex straitjacket of global warming dogma, one might ask some obvious questions. Why, in 2008, did Toronto, the Midwest United States, India, China, the United Kingdom and several areas of Europe all break summer rainfall records? Why was South Africa converted into a 'winter wonderland' this past September? Why did Alaska record its coldest summer this year -- cold enough for ice packs and glaciers to grow for the first time in measured history? Why has sea ice achieved...

The initial two quoted sentences sums up well comments I hear from most people discussing the current weather. They use the phrase "Global warming" in an appropriate sarcastic manner while shivering due to the colder weather.

Of the final quoted statement, people should absolutely be coaxed to approach the climate change issue with a neutral perspective in addition to their own personal observations. If they find they are freezing their butts off while some cavalier drone is telling them it's just their imagination, they had better listen to themselves.

Personally, I am very skeptical about the reports concerning global warming and climate change overall, and especially those that heap all the blame on mankind. The Earth experiences climate change regardless of what mankind does, or does not do. I’ve never experienced two consecutive years in any location that had weather exactly alike. There were climate changes at work, and nothing to be alarmed about.

Lastly, I do have issues with the pollution in the air that causes very serious health problems. An example is vaporized mercury. I was impressed when Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made reference to such pollutants during the Vice Presidential debate. She may be more aware of this due to the health factors surrounding the birth of her youngest child, or because Alaska has experienced the highest measured concentrations of such airborne particulate matter originating from China and Russia. Whatever, we would all do well with air free of particulate matter that has such dire health consequences, of which mercury is one.

After a beautiful Th/Fri/Sat with temps from 62 to 72, I woke up to 4 inches of global warming residue this morning. My lawns and trees were completely clear of snow on Saturday. Now, they are completely buried...again. More snow is due on Wednesday. I'm thankful for being able to take the 37 mile jaunt out to Lava Hot Springs on my motorcycle to enjoy a nice Thai dinner on Thursday. The bike had a chance to run in 5th gear for extended periods and rewarded me with 42.5 MPG. Exactly what the factory claims. Temps will be back up to 51 by Friday.

“If it’s getting warmer, it’s global warming. If it’s getting cooler, it’s because of global warming.”

The scam conveniantly works both ways so its supporters can claim to be right no matter what happens.

Now, who didn’t see this coming—considering the winter we’ve just gone through!

Climate fluctuates like the Dow Jones. When the fluctuation du jour is towards hot, it’s global warming. When it’s toward cold, it’s global cooling. All they need do is say that that fluctuation is a long-term trend, and that it’s all our fault for polluting the earth for personal gain, rather than collectivist idiocy.

You mean, the ground rising is somebody else’s fault? Somebody like...gulp...Bush? What about the walls closing in?

I’m far more likely to believe in a coming ice age than in global “warming”, especially after this freakishly cold and unending winter, but the role of humans in causing this is so negligible that I can barely stand listening to the climate change idiots anymore without wanting to slap them.
