Like it or not, gun sales are, well, booming.
There are a number of reasons but the most prevalent are people are afraid the Obama administration, sooner or later, will get around to creating more-restrictive gun ownership laws and taxes. And those are not unfounded fears.
So gun owners are stocking up on ammunition, handguns and semiautomatic rifles. Sales are up 50 percent since Barack Obama was elected.
And gun-control advocates have taken notice.
In a story in Seacoast Sunday last week, Peter Hamm of the Washington-D.C.-based Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence used words like "lunacy" to describe people who are buying guns.

Thanks. I’ll try them.
Well, for my wife it was a .38 Special revolver. For my son, an AK. For my daughter a .22 semi-auto rifle with scope.
Mr. Hamm you need not worry about the choices I make for my family. I'm far more capable of that than you are.
By the way, I'm not an "extremist" .... yet.
That is because there is no middle ground. There is the second amendment. Anything else is fascist spin.
How many violent criminals were without guns last year thanks to gun control laws......ZERO.
My local Wal Mart is out of 38 and 22 ammo, no idea of when more is coming. My local gun shop has both in limited supply and getting more costly.
According to the liberals, the idiots that they are, all this gun buying should result in an equal increase in gun crime. Gosh, what if it doesn’t??
The Bass Pro Shop near I-70 and Quebec usually has quite a gun and ammo selection. Most Walmarts have quit selling guns and their ammo is sold out in most popular calibers.
Any update on the re-introduction of the Ammunition Accountability Act in our fair Commonwealth?
LOL!
I have two AR kits on backorder since early January. Looks like I probably won’t get them until summer.
I ordered a bunch of stripped lowers last year thankfully.
"No one should have the right to own guns (other than my personal bodyguard)".
If you go there today, be prepared for the long line to get in. Yesterday, it was all the way down the side of the block and half way around the other.
