I think we should all send our 1040 long forms to EVERY senator and congress idiots with a simple letter that says:
YOU FIGURE IT OUT!!
Is that a bad thing?
Yeah, it would be pretty sweet to have another 4 years of Obama and get routed by 50 percentage point.
Lizbeth, I’m comin’ to meet ya.
Sanford needs to get his junkyard in order, it is starting to stink.
I'm so sorry if I implied that I support Sanford or his "idiot" statement, because I don't. I believe that these are distractions from people who should know better, at a time we (as a nation) cannot afford to have silly distractions.
By either failing, or worse, refusing to correctly characterize and respond accurately and substantively to Rush's statement, Sanford demonstrates a serious lack of some combination of understanding, judgment and commitment to principle.
Sanford fell right into a trap the talking heads set. Frankly, he should know better, a lot better. He seems to show a distinct lack of understanding.
Neither Romney supporters nor the orcs of the Left will be able to destroy Sanford, Jindal, or others unless they themselves keep giving them the ammunition. The fact that they keep doing so is the real cause for concern.
I don't know about that. I see tremendous harm in what Romney is doing as he tries to position himself for another run in 2012. It is more than simply distracting for Romney or his supporters to attack sitting governors for his sole (potential) benefit. Anything that detracts from the 2010 election, or from keeping Conservative governors in office must be rejected.
Holding Romney to the same standard I'm willing to hold Mark Sanford to, he lacks (in your words) "some combination of understanding, judgment and commitment to principle". Insulting other Republicans is distracting from the message that the GOP needs to stay on if it plans to make gains in the 2010 election.
In the case of Sanford, or Jindal, or (fill in the black) it's one thing to make mistakes as you work your way up the political ladder. You make them, you learn from them, and hopefully, you do better and begin to rise. It is entirely another thing to have members of your own party attack you and take you to task for their sole benefit.
Too many of the "articles" I've seen on Romney lately seem to be attack pieces on other Republicans. It's as though he thinks he can't win unless he destroys the other potential candidates before the race even starts.
You have a wicked sense of humor. Very funny.
I’d nominate this for post of the year.
:)
Sanford has been governor of a rather small, reliably conservative, republican, state, and generally kept a low national profile. Which does not take a rocket scientist. Other than that, what has he done with his life to compare with what Rush has done with his?

What makes you think Rush was the one who picked the fight?
LIMBAUGH: I am told South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford called me an idiot
Calvin Coolidge would never have called Will Rogers an "idiot." You can like Sanford all you want if that's what turns you on but don't insult Coolidge any further thank you.
Those are valid and excellent points. The underlying problem with these discussions is that this forum is now dominated by rabid partisans who are far more interested in promoting their "faction" (as George Washington called it) than in promoting the principles upon which the country was founded, and which are are only long-term guarantee of our rights and freedom.
Ping to #48!
Ponygirl - nice to know I’m not the only “Girl” on FR who’s ready to get to work to defeat Sidney John in 2010!
LOL. Well put!
ROFLMAO!
CLASSIC!
Thank you, I needed a good laugh today!
