The Dirty Little Secret Is Out: Religious Faith and Evolution Are Incompatible
ICR ^ | March 20, 2009 | Frank Sherwin, M.A.

Posted on 03/20/2009 7:59:40 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

In a recent book review, Jerry Coyne, professor of ecology and evolution at the University of Chicago, admitted that the secular worldview of macroevolution (the development of complex life from “simpler” forms) is at odds with Christian faith...

The “Byzantine” is a direct link to Rome.
In the 4th Century, Constantinople was in Union with the Roman Catholic Church.
Your post in no way at all refutes what I have been trying to tell you: There would be NO Bible at all if not for the Catholic Church.

It most certainly DOES...You have to go a little deeper than what you cherry picked out of the work you cited...

The original (which we all know doesn't exist) was translated into the 'OLD' Latin...And this Old Latin is basically included in what is now called the Received Text...

If you want to connect your Roman church with the old Orthodox church, then it's true that your church used the same texts as the KJV...And then the church split...Your side of split became Roman...

Then along came Constantine and thus, Jerome...Jerome left the texts of the Old Latin and retranslated it and created the Vulgate...Apparently he didn't like what the Old Latin and Greek said...

wait!

You mean one cannot believe in evolution even though the Bible and Jesus believed in creation and still claim to be a Christian?

say it ain’t so!

Well what are all the nominal Christians gonna do now!?!

Oh well, I guess they’ll have to continue to worship the creation, rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
Amen.

luke warm piety evaporatus maximus!

We are talking about a span of more than 2,000 years, and specifically of the first 1,500 years.
There were NOT always the same amount of parchments or pieces of scripture, those numbers fluctuated with time, of course.
You list how many are currently available.
I take you back to the first Councils of the Church which decided on the Books of the First Bible:

“The Council of Carthage, called the third by Denzinger,[4] on 28 August 397 issued a canon of the Bible restricted to: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Josue, Judges, Ruth, 4 books of Kingdoms, 2 books of Paralipomenon, Job, Psalter of David, 5 books of Solomon, 12 books of Prophets, Isaias, Jeremias, Daniel, Ezechiel, Tobias, Judith, Esther, 2 books of Esdras, 2 books of Machabees, and in the New Testament: 4 books of Gospels, 1 book of Acts of the Apostles, 13 letters of the Apostle Paul, 1 of him to the Hebrews, 2 of Peter, 3 of John, 1 of James, 1 of Jude, and the Apocalypse of John.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Councils_of_Carthage

So, there was not an authority at any time prior to 387 AD that these different Books were ever combined into ONE, and even at this time, these works were all hand written.

At the time of the of the 397 Council in Carthage, every Christian was in full Union with Rome.

Those whom Rome considered, at the time, to be heretics then are still considered heretics, today, by every Christian denomination.

The Roman Catholic Church decided which books to include and which to exclude.

The King James Bible made a few minor changes to the Books that it kept, and excluded any books that might support purgatory or conflict with other Protestant theories.

The Eastern Church split from Rome in 1054 AD.

If you trace your translations to the Orthodox, you STILL have to admit that Rome had great influence in your translations.

There is little difference, today, between the Eastern Orthodox and the the Roman Catholic Church.

Even though scientists can clone and grow animal life, such things are an impossibility for God. /s

I don’t spend much time contemplating the genesis of human life, but the evolutionary model is puzzling in how it describes the evolution of abstract thought; the same facility used to define the realization of itself.

How many fragments of scripture remain that date back prior to 397 AD, the first Church Council to Canonize the FIRST Bible?

Very, very few are that old!

It has been my argument from the very beginning, on this thread, that very few copies of scripture were available, before the Catholic Church acted to create the first, full Bible.

This is absolutely true! You say that “thousands” are available today?

Tell me how many of those individual works are older than AD 397.

Then tell me how many of those “thousands” of copies are duplicate scriptures, or writings of the same Book?

Were Christians who died before 397 destined to Hell, for not reading the “Bible” that did not exist, in complete form, prior to that date?

The vast majority of Christians, who died prior to 1500, NEVER read a page of the Bible, because:

1.) Many Christians could not read at all until, very recent times
2.) The Bible was not actually available as one official Book until 397 AD.
3.) Until the printing press, and the Gutenberg Bible of 1492 (Latin Vulgate) the Bible was a priceless work of art that the vast majority could not afford to own.

The Bible would not exist at all if not for the Catholic Church.

Every single scrap of ancient text, in existence today, is either now, or once was, the property of the Roman Catholic Church.

Regardless of your opinion of the correct translation, NO translation would ever have been possible without the protection granted to those documents, by the Roman Catholic Church.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Your entire post makes absolutely no sense. Evolution is an accepted fact. Deny it if you want. Fortunately, there are scientists around that are smart enough to understand the facts surrounding evolution, take advantage of them and make life better for everyone, including those that deny evolution.

How exactly do you account for Eve, and more importantly, how do account for Eve's soul. It is interesting to note that only Adam was imbued with a soul. But since Eve was created directly from Adam, that's not a problem, but it is for your theory.

I see no problem -- except that Eve was not "created". She was formed from existing created matter (Adam's rib). If the Word were given to us today, perhaps we would receive it as "cloned from Adam's rib". As for Eve's soul -- do you expect God to tell you every time He takes a breath?

I am astounded that folks demand that the very few words God gave us in Genesis must spell out the minutest details of biology and quantum physics and cosmology. His Word is true; understanding the details is what faith -- and science -- and the guidance of His Holy Spirit -- are for...

>>incorporate the same bacterial behavior
>>as the world of today, now is it?

You don’t know much about biology, do you. Bacteria naturally inhabit the gut of every mammal. They are a necessity for normal digestion.

Attitudes like yours are a significant reason why homosexuals have not been contained. Eunuchs have always coveted the various kingdoms that utilized them. “And some were from the womb...”... It’s not unreasonable to assume traits such as XXY and androgen insensitivity syndrome were deliberately bred for by the slave breeding hierarchies of old - who would have prefered “natural” eunuchs to those manufactured via surgery.

Christians have bought into the secular humanist ideology that Faith and Science are incompatible. This gives those who operate in the occult, hidden from sight, a tremendous advantage. So when you see homosexuals winning the culture war - Congratulate yourself.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights, dear brother in Christ!

Truly, the words of God are spirit and life. The words of men are neither spirit nor life.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. – John 6:63

It is easier to compare the U.S. Tax Code to the Constitution than it is to compare quantum physics, cosmology and biology to Scripture. The words of God are glorious.

To God be the glory!

>>Macroevolution presumes what?

You’ve stated that bacterial action was different before the fall.

Well, bacteria are specific in their action within the niches they exploit. So where did modern bacteria come from if they didn’t exist before the fall?

Man-made evolution is the central pillar of trans-humanist/postgenderist doctrine. The conservative community generally doesn’t have a clue how to counter attack - and that’s because Luddites like you have played into their hands; and facilitated the occult strategy of driving a wedge between faith and science.

It astounds me that you don't. Then again, much of what passes for reason these days astounds me....

Yep

And thus a significant reason conservatives are losing the culture war against homosexuals is because they’ve facilitated driving a wedge between themselves and the very tool that could have exposed the rainbow vampira to the light - Science.

God created the Human mind, but they won’t use it; and that’s a powerful advantage for the enemy.

But then, those who hide in the occult shadows have always been adept at keeping science from the sheeple: All the better to Shock, Awe, and manipulate them.

>>She was formed from existing created matter (Adam's rib).

Problem is every human embryo begins with female morphology.  Without testosterone, and the proper response to testosterone, XY (male) offspring will manifest female appearance and genitalia.

Google Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.  Google XXY

Don't look now, but the Eunuchs are taking over the empire.  Conservatives need to grasp the scientific physical reality of what's going on - because if they don't, the game is over.

Listen... can you hear Nero tuning his fiddle?
