Court Suspends Carry in National Parks

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Today, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. granted anti-gun plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against implementation of the new rule allowing concealed carry in national parks and national wildlife refuges.

Until further notice, individuals cannot legally carry loaded, concealed firearms for personal protection in national parks and wildlife refuges.

The court did grant NRA's motion to intervene in the cases. Under federal law, NRA is entitled to an immediate appeal, and NRA will exercise that right.

"Just as we did not give up the fight to change the old, outdated rule, we will not give up our fight in the courts to defend the rule change," said NRA chief lobbyist Chris W. Cox. "We will pursue every legal avenue to defend the American people's right to self-defense."

My HOA sent out a letter that no concealed weapons are allowed

Anywhere in the developement, or just when attending their meetings? They may be able to do that for their meetings, but unless it's explicitly in your contract, I'd tell 'em to go pi$$ up a rope, and give them my lawyers card.

So like BooBoo bear will pat people down?

May just eat your lunch with you. Unless of course you don't have lunch then the menu might be less varied.

Boo Boo hopes you bring meat, donkey is ok.

Worlds largest Boo Boo bear stood 14 foot tall and weighed a bit over a half a ton. The little ones might give you a kiss!

But don't startle them, Boo Boo gave her boo boos.

And he got patted down too:

(Trust me I had a hard time finding images not so graphic to post here)

But I am sure the Obama Administration does not mind the government liability of citizens being patted down by Boo Boo and not being able to defend themselves by an unconstitutional law inside a National Park. I am sure they can cover all the inevitable lawsuits based on reasonable responsibility, the second amendment and the such with warning signs and a few hundred Million bucks.

I really think that Obama should send all poor city liberal environmentalists to our New CHANGE based National parks for Nature walks. How else are they going to discover the true Mother Nature PMS moments? Disney movies are not quite as exciting as a walk in the Park in the much improved Obamaland. Hey, bring the kids for a family adventure you will never forget!

And, if its Alaska, be sure not to miss the wolf pack attraction. With a wolf pack there can be fun for the whole family!!!

My liberal brother went nuts that everyone in the Prescott national forest was wearing a hog leg.

“what do they need those for?!”

I said Jr. have you ever seen a mountain lion?
He said “no”
I said I guarantee one has seen you.

I was elk hunting in Idaho one year with snow on the ground. Came up on some mountain lion tracks and stupidly decided to follow them. They disappeared at the base of a tree. I started circling the tree to pick up the trail again...that mountain lion was still in the tree, but I never saw him, guaranteed he was watching me the whole time though.

Every lame attempt to resurect the 'right' to keep and bear arms is met with resistance at all levels. Why is that?

I'll tell you why. Generations pass on certain traits that were characteristic of their fathers (and mothers). At our founding, you would not find a Brady Buncher. Guns played that significant a part in our ancestor's lives.

The Left is betting on the watered-down gene pool effect where over time, we simply rely less on guns and they can effectively take them from us (making us all slaves, but who's counting).

It's a Eugenics trick, evolved to lessen resistance toward tyranny. If I could do one thing, it would be to awaken Americans to this swindle taking place.

The argument is basically that they should have done an environmental assessment before changing the rules to allow carry.

So, have they done such a study on armed park personnel? If not, shouldn't they be disarmed too?

Bingo.

I'm thinking of a joke about a CommieLib tree hugger/pole smoker who was buying some bear pepper spray and bear bells before hitting the woods, because he'd heard there were black bear and griz in the area. He asked the outfitter how he could tell if there were bear around. The outfitter said by their scat. The Eco-fag asked how he could tell the difference between black bear scat and grizzly scat. The outfitter told him that black bear scat was small and often contained berries. He said griz scat was larger, often contained bells, and smelled like pepper.

Precisely the reason I like the reaaurance offered by a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Long Colt at my side or in a shoulder rig. With a couple dozen spare rounds just to be safe.

I agree totally with you Annie.

What if you have disabled license plates? In AZ we’re allowed open carry. I wonder if this new Nazi law will affect us, or maybe they just want to kill anyone (including children) who may have disabilities.

I find this disgusting for everyone, BTW.

Do you think the National Park employees will abide by this?

What utter nonsense. Can anyone in Washington, D.C. read?

Good for you, Joe. Please be careful of what your write. You know “they” are watching us on FR because we follow the Constitution. Am I paranoid? I don’t think so.

It should be mandated that everyone over the age of 18 carry a gun. Pretty much stop all the violence, eh?
