What a horrible, shocking thing to have happened to your son! I am so happy he survived this vicious attack. We live in scary times full of people possessing less and less self-control and prone to senseless violence. Especially among the young. At least your boy is still here with you. He got fairly prompt medical help, which I’m sure made a big difference.

With Natasha Richardson, I read that there was no obvious, apparent physical injury. No loss of consciousness, no unsteady walk or incoherent speech. She seemed fine. Which is one of the dangers of her type of injury. There’s nothing to SEE which would cause one to think...”I need a doctor, NOW!” These ‘quiet’ little injuries can be so deadly. Like I said above, I’m sure my reaction would have been very similar to hers.

Good grief.... I’ve had some bad bumps to the head and have seen others who have really whacked their heads hard on concrete.., not good...

Fortunately no one died. I guess different people are different.

OMG..how awful. Did they catch all of them? How is your son today? This attack was totally unprovoked? Why on earth do people do such things?

It's not sad.
It's life. :-)
I learned sooo much from my Dad.
I was blessed to know him.

And life is good.

At least twice as good as whatever is in second place.

You got it. Just so you know, I’m all for protecting the Bill of Rights, even in the face of insults above. And this incident was a real tragedy, for sure, but is it worth a dozen threads here with Internet doctors diagnosing the dying patient and dissing those who tried to save her in two countries no less? What exactly is revolting?

Actually not terribly uncommon. The London Telegraph, I think, posted an article yesterday where an expert called it ‘Talk and Die’. People bang their heads sharply, shake it off, say they’re fine, carry on normally enough for an hour or so... then severe headache, followed by unconsciousness and death.

This reminds me of that short story by Raymond Carver, A Small, Good Thing.

Until yesterday I didn’t know who this actress was. Now I don’t know what TMZ is. Is that a rapper like Run DMC?

LOL.

TMZ.com (I think) is the new National Enquirer.

You probably will live a better life not knowing .

I wish I didn’t.

Have a good night.
