Police in Missouri apparently are being instructed to keep on eye on conservatives.
According to this AP article the government of the state of Missouri has issued a report "informing" state police that people with third party bumper stickers on their cars or who believe the NAFTA superhighway is an attempt create a North American Union are subversive members of paramilitary militias and potential terrorists.

Here’s an idea.
Let’s keep up the tea parties - but add a bumper sticker campaign:
1. Every patriot will sport one anti-Obama (or other anti-big-govt, anti UN, anti whatever) sticker
2. They also need a sticker that says something along the lines of” “The First Amendment - Read it, Jerks! I can have as many damn stickers as I want!”
If millions of people have them, just let them TRY to arrest us.
I believe it was Voltaire who declared “IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE RIGHT WHEN THE STATE IS WRONG.”
It’s come to America.
“...At what exact point, then, should one resist the
communists?...”
“How we burned in the prison camps later thinking: what
would things have been like if every Security operative, when he
went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether
he would return alive and had to say good bye to his family?
“Or if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply
sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang on the
downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had
understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the
downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes,
hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand...the Organs
(police) would very quickly have suffered a shortage of
officers...and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the
cursed machine would have ground to a halt.”
Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Gulag Archipelago
I wonder if that will be like an ID some day.........
It's .PDF but worth reading, and someone needs to confront the Missouri state government with it.
The Founding Fathers must be wretching in the afterlife over the police state that this country has become.
I’m one who wasn’t a big McCain fan but also thinks Ron Paul is a bit of a loon.
However, I would never for ONE MINUTE suggest that we should consider Ron Paul’s supporters to be anything other than patriots.
Oh come on, the police I know are more right wing than I am (and that ain’t easy to achieve). Course I only know police in SW Missouri, could be different in St Louis or KC.
Well, it certainly explains why a county deputy paid particular attention to my Duncan Hunter bumper sticker when he pulled me over last year, and then proceeded to treat me like McVeigh reincarnated.
There was a huge outcry against the superhighway here in Texas. There is still a giant billboard that says “Ron Paul for President 2008” on I-30 between Dallas and Texarkana, near Greenville. I guess anybody with a Texas license plate would be considered subversive to Missouri state police.
Un-effen believable!
I am sure King George felt the same in 1776.
What about cars with NRA stickers on them? LOL.
“O’er the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard ‘round the world.”
Does that mean Free Republic gets on their list?
About a year ago IIRC, someone posted a report about a fellow in Ill. who made the mistake of having an NRA decal in his vehicle rear window. Some moonbat called 911 upon seeing it and being “offended”, so the gendarmes pulled him over, made a full felony stop with drawn weapons, face planted him on the asphalt, searched and cuffed him, then ransacked his car and dragged him in for interrogation. No weapon was found.
NOt finding an excuse to railroad him, they apparently let him go only to show up later at his workplace to again ransack his car and I think his work space as well. Again the victim was clean.
(Try doing that to a Muslim for having an Arabic sticker on his car and see what happens!)
Can someone please look that up?
Might be an indication if not a precedent of things to come for the rest of us who have the audacity to display non PC material.
Published “warnings” like this would give zealous LE all the “probably cause” they need for aggressive “caution” like that as well as a full search of car, home, or wherever they want to ransack.
I would not count on the courts to contradict them in the practice, either - and any contraband “evidence” (like a Constitution or a Bible? /s) found will probably be admissible as “evidence”.
If they keep treating law abiding freedom loving and God fearing Americans like “terrorists”, sooner or later one of them might take a notion to start acting like one.
Or two...
That could get interesting.
...Stay tuned.

"MISSOURI STATE POLICE THINK YOU AND I ARE TERRORISTS" BY CHUCK BALDWIN
Folks who called anyone not voting for McCain a terrorist or a traitor, are misplacing their anger. Americans are free to support the candidate of their choice. If those folks, many even here on FR, want to throw blame and anger, they should direct it squarely at the RNC, and at the Dems who crossed to vote for McCain in the primary, for the fact that he was nominated in the first place. Sorry, this is not directed at you, but it has to be said. I did vote for McCain, but really for Palin. Regardless, I am sick of hearing Republicans bashing fellow voters, fellow FR members for not voting for him. They should get over it and start stopping this communist administration instead. People being trashing here for their vote didn't vote for this guy, so they should ease up.
Not funny by any means, but I am sure that would be one at the TOP of the list!
What is really scary is the fact the police are becoming infested with left wing kooks. I saw more Obama bumper stickers in the police dept parking lot than I have ever seen. Since we don’t have a jail, I am assuming these might be sworn officers’ vehicles.
