WASHINGTON – The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned.
U.S. officials said Tuesday they had notified the declaration's French sponsors that the administration wants to be added as a supporter. The Bush administration was criticized in December when it was the only western government that refused to sign on.

Can, or will, the UN pressure Arab/Islamic/Muslim/whatever nations to at least not imprison or execute homosexuals?
I’m tired of this whole “Gay Rights” thing, I think consenting adults ARE going to do whatever makes them happy. And I have no problem with that - I am not God.
My big problem is not only is this Gay stuff supposed to be openly accepted, but that the liberals are forcing taxpayer money to be spent indoctrinating our youth that it is a viable and accepted lifestyle choice. I’m 42 and from Chicago, and I’d like to see a return to health / sex ed class as I went through it as a teen - the teachers I had were awesome. I learned everything I needed to know either from my family (The moral parts), or the early 80’s public school system (health related) I attended.
The stuff I hear of that goes on now in our schools sickens me

There are many countries that are not Muslim that will not support this. I would bet that most UN countries will not support this.
Countries where many of the politicos and population view homosexuality as normal are just few: some countries in Western Europe (note that France is the sponsor), the USA, Canada and maybe Australia.
Other than those countries, you are hard pressed to find any country that will support this. For example, take the country of Jamaica. Homosexuality is illegal there.
If there is anyone out there who is still wondering why our nation appears to be falling apart, wonder no more.
I would say that this endorsement validates God's judging of this country and His allowing us to lose our freedoms and way of life and turning us over to the depravity we love so much and letting the chips fall where they may.
This action on the part of Barack Obama is a snapshot of why we are losing our nation.
Regardless of what some socialist has to say about it, I refuse to permit my children, my family nor myself be harassed by homosexuals.
That means that if you now take your children out of a class that is teaching Heather has two Mommies YOU will be arrested

Does anyone remember what parts Bush objected to? Are there mandates for countries signing on to this regarding laws? This is a HUGE PROBLEM! It’s one thing to stand up against discrimination (whether based on sex, race, sexual orientation, etc...). It’s a COMPLETELY SEPARATE issue for the U.S. to sign onto ANYTHING from the U.N. that attempts to legislate ANYTHING in our country...
Bush didn’t not sign this because he wanted to discriminate, he refused to sign it because things like this promoted by the U.N. can be considered completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL... Not that Obama cares one whit about the Constitution as we can plainly see by his actions already...
Can anyone say “One World Government” (I knew you could...)! This just brings us one step closer to being ruled by the U.N. and losing our sovereignty, AND our rights. Someone pinch me and wake me up from this nightmare!!!
