Apparently, the Obama administration hasnt backed away from its plans to start offloading costs for wounded veterans to third-party insurance, which will make acquiring such insurance nearly impossible. The commander of the American Legion emerged from a meeting with President Obama angered at Obamas insistence on generating revenue from those who sacrificed for American security:
The leader of the nations largest veterans organization says he is deeply disappointed and concerned after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.
It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan, said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.
The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate to care for him who shall have borne the battle given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harms way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of Americas veterans!

And the wake up calls just keep a comin’.
The Zero knows what he’s doing. He wants to make serving one’s country as unappealing as possible.
He has every right to be shouting into his microphone over this.
Forced universal health care for everyone except vets.
Why is it my job to buy your aspirins?
The friggin debt has already been paid in FULL, mr obammmmmmmmmra!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
The left believes that armies cause wars. That having an army gives people the excuse to use it.
That if you don’t have an army you won’t have war.
They are ignorant of history and human nature in the extreme.
So illegal aliens are allowed free health care in our country but our military vets aren’t? If we don’t soon grab the pitch forks and march on DC shame on us.
I dare him to do this...watch what will happen.
Levin is completely blowing chunks over this on the air..
What?
You will have to explain that one. . .just not getting the point.
Proof, if proof were needed, of just what the 0 thinks of those who have sacrificed for this nation.
I just received an invitation in the mail from the VA in Baton Rouge. As an OIF/OEF Veteran I ahve been invited to a focus group on the 20th and you better believe I will be there and this will be the ONLY topic I plan to discuss. I am sure I will face opposition and may even be disenvited but it is my duty as part of the oath I swore to my country. I have had nothing but great service from the VA and I hope they will hear what I have to say.
This is absolutely outrageous.
No kiddin’!! A couple million uniformed vets marching on D.C. Wow... now that would be something!
All veterans should rise up to this cause.
So illegal aliens are allowed free health care in our country but our military vets arent? If we dont soon grab the pitch forks and march on DC shame on us.
AGREED!!!
Military coup d’état?
Yet, someone who has spent their life with their lips glued to a cigarette, washing down their pork rinds with pickled eggs and slim jims, reciting sports statistics and bitching about Springer reruns between pulls from a bottle, will get the full meal deal, courtesy of the taxpayer.
It would be great if the VFW and any other Veterans organizations would call out it’s members to join force and start showing up at the Tea Parties.
