'Frozen in fear over climate change'

By Marlowe Hood in Copenhagen

* People overwhelmed by gloomy data * Reverting to doing nothing * "Fear society is not up to challenge"

SCIENTISTS say they are haunted by the failure to convey to the world just how close Earth is to climate catastrophe.

Top researchers who gathered in Copenhagen for a climate change conference said they were worried that people could not psychologically deal with the enormity of the problem and were reverting to doing nothing.

French glaciologist Claude Lorius, one of the first scientists to publish in 1987 evidence that global warming was real said he despaired of getting the message across.

"At first, I thought that we could convince people. But there is a terrible inertia,'' he said.

"I fear that society is not up to the challenge of a crisis like this. Today, as a human being I am pessimistic.''

John Church, an expert on sea levels at the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystem Cooperative Research Centre in Hobart, took an equally dim view of our collective capacity for denial.

"Perhaps society has realised the seriousness, but it certainly hasn't realised the urgency,'' he said.

"But even if you are pessimistic - and sometimes I am - it does not help. What are you going to do? Chop off your hands and give up? That's not a solution either,'' he said.

This emergency climate change/global warming crap will go down in history as the biggest attempted scam ever perpetrated on people world-wide. They have already been allowed to get way too far with it, and even have a Nobel Prize to show for it. Unfortunately the ONLY reason they’ve all come out of the woodwork they’d retreated into, is that they’ve been given a new lease on life by this Administration, at least verbally. Whether they’re able to throw another “bailout” the way of this movement is yet another thing that might cause massive outrage, like the AIG bonuses. It’s all part of the same fabric of delusion and illusion that has come to define politics and
the promulgation of the “Agenda”.

The Satellite they had in orbit that monitored the ice covered regions on earth, showed the ice receding the last 2 years and they are in a panic, and fabricated 50 man-made reasons why.

Then it is discovered the Satellite has been broken the last 2 years and has fed false data to these “Climatologists”. After fixing the Satellite, it is clearly evident that the opposite has been happening. Those same ice covered regions have gained vast amounts of ice instead.

Rather that correct their error, these idiots refuse to let a “Good Crisis” go to waste and go with the false data, because it fits their agenda and guarantees their income for years to come. Which is the real reason; These are career liars, who have made fortunes off grant money and Discovery Channel documentaries. It all makes sense for the few of us who still have brains, what these people are really up to.

Obama’s economic Krakatoa has me pretty close to running for the hills. Will that work for them?

Actually, scientists without a political agenda are saying the earth is going into a cooling off period that could last for decades.

The Marxists folly and political meddling is slowly, but surely, being exposed. Unfortunately, we're losing freedom after freedom while we wait for the enlightenment to reach the worlds majority.

If these guys had their way they would change the face of the world with their green policies. Certainly I fear a world turned head over heads by a few nut case scientists and their political stooges.

I kinda like the world the way it is, with my living in a free country and a decent paycheck.

Maybe so. This kind of talk seems like a prelude to demanding a “benevolent” dictator to save the people from themselves and their “scientifically established” psychosis. Basically the “scientists” are saying “we have established the science, the earth is a unified entity which needs to be governed by a unified one-world organization, and the people are incapable of appreciating their own danger so they must be institutionalized in government-run facilities.” That could cause a whole lot of deaths.

“Top researchers who gathered in Copenhagen for a climate change conference said they were worried that people could not psychologically deal with the enormity of the problem and were reverting to doing nothing.”

Most people in their heart of hearts do not believe in the scary stories of climate change. Those who do are quite radical and a bit nuts - if I believed it then I would find this a fairly normal reaction and would probably be that way myself.

Nobody really believes in the bogeyman! They may be quite happy to tag along and even elect a Government that will make some changes in this area but this is only done to appease their conscience and so they don't feel inferior in other people's or country's eyes.

Gee, perhaps its because there is no global warming and these scientists are just another bunch of scam artists.

Pray for America

The thing is that, even in their direst performances, the earth isn't going to die or disappear or anything. If their worst fears are realized, there will be calamatous reordering of life, the social fabric of civilization will be torn apart, and millions will die.

The problem is the only thing that could save us, according to them, would be a dramatic (say 90%) reduction in our current energy usage. That "solution" would result in a calamatous reordering of life, the social fabric of civilization would be torn apart, and millions would die.

You've got it exactly right. They tell us that if we do nothing, millions of people will die. And the proposed solution will result in millions of people dying.

The left is a Culture of Death, and the global warming hoax is a tool for them to use.

Jim Jones used the same brainwashing methods on his followers.

“so if you don’t believe this stuff you are then nuts is that it? “

It’s not that they have not put forward any real evidence supporting their AGW hypothesis. It’s that we are too crazy to understand their brilliance. You see, someone took the strawberries.
