One thing about President Barack Hussein Obama, he usually means what he says, at least initially that is. He is always having to back track to cover up the things he really meant when he said it the first time. For example, he said the Rearend Wright was his spirtual mentor. Anyone who has studied the guy knows that this was truly what he meant, but of course Obama had to eventually dump the Rearend when he continued to hear flack about that asscociation of twenty years. Then there are many things he has spoken that are so unfamiliar with the typical American lexicon that they have been shrugged off as just campaign rhetoric. When he mentioned about having a "civilian national security force" that was just as strong and equally funded as the military, it went without hardly a mention by the major news outlets. Obama has never been pressed on this, and so he has not had to do his kabuki dance around what he meant. Oh, you heard about it in conservative pockets, like on Townhall, and on my blog on Yahoo 360. The thing is, this President is serious about what he says. In the video from July when he said it, the people just clapped on cue like a bunch of Obamatons while their beloved candidate was telling them that he will have a federal security force within our own country to enforce the coming federal mandates upon the states and the people.

Well, Mr. President Obama repeated his remarks just the other day at the dedication of Abraham Lincoln Hall at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C..
"And that’s why my administration is committed to renewing diplomacy as a tool of American power, and to developing our civilian nationanl security capabilities… … We have to enlist our civilians in the same way that we enlist those members of the armed services in understanding this broad mission that we have."

Their post has extensive links on this topic, including an audio clip from the Mark Levin show that has the above comments by Obama. During the campaign, I kept steering people to Investor's Business Daily and their series Audacity of Socialism. RightReborn also mentions IBD and one of the articles of that series. What good is information if it is never received and acted on in wisdom? The past couple of years have been a frustrating exercise for those who seek to truly inform others. There just does not seem to be much reception until everything goes to hell in a handbasket.
Compulsory service in a “militia” might well be desirable, assuming that said militia performed only the three duties assigned to it under the Constitution. See Article 1 Section 8.
Thanks for answering both questions. The one you did answer has a qualifier, too. I am sickened. So much for this message board being populated by limited government embracng, freedom-loving types.
Ok, I got it from the genealogical sites, so it could be wrong. My question is did they consider them to be part of the federal army? We have an ancestor who claimed to have served in the War of 1812, it’s even on his headstone, but we can find no record of him serving, but we did find a record that claimed that he served in the NJ state militia.
Seriously though, probably best to join ASAP. Best we have some spies on the inside to feed information out to true patriots.

agree. I’m not at all surprised by his policies/positions but it is pretty amazing that, with less than 6 months into the job, he’s done so much damage.....whether thru people he’s put in place or by his policies.

I guess 0 doesn’t realize there already is a civilian national defense force. It’s called “the unorganized militia,” and is likely to fight his ersats ‘civilian’ force if he ever brings it into existence.
Obama could have this force up and running in a matter of months, if he put all his energy behind it.
Recruitment would not be a problem. He could find tens of thousands of thugs who’d have no qualms about killing innocent civilians. Black, white, Mexican and Asian gangs, in prison and on the streets, dirty cops, other dirty LEOs, disgruntled ex-servicemen and officers of all branches, foreign mercenaries, mob enforcers, Obama-worshipping fanatics, and ordinary brutes who just want to bust skulls.
Training would not be a problem either. Out of the recruits can be drawn many people capable of training these thugs in everything they need to do.
Equipment would not be a problem either. Some of that stimulus money can find its way to defence contractors and arms dealers, under the table and laundered every which way.
Look how he’s been able to handle a much bigger undertaking—destruction of the American economy—with a little help from his friends in such a short time.
Putting together his own storm troopers would be a breeze by comparison.
Those confiscating weapons from law-abiding citizens during Hurricane Katrina probably appreciate your loyalty. It might be quite useful to them.
