Wow, that’s a considerable amount of “stuff”. No weeds, no “predators”.

It got into single digits here last night. Winter is not ready to give up yet. Today was -71 in Prudhoe Bay per email from one of the guys up there.

I only do it as a last resort - I spend more time correcting typos than I do typing out my post in the first place!

I spend more time correcting typos than I do typing out my post in the first place!I feel your pain...same trouble here. Once it is the only option away from home, the typos lessen as fat fingers get used to little buttons.

Well, I have a four foot fence to keep the deer out of the garden. I happened to leave two small cabbage heads laying outside the fence about two weeks ago. The deer found them within a couple of hours and ate both of them.

Welcome to the Canteen, Mountain Mary...thank you so much for sharing your Conservative Leadership conference memories. What a fantastic thank you from someone who knows, who understands, about the cost of freedom. I think she is who I heard on the radio....living in a basement for years as a child, trying to survive. What an inspirational speaker.

I’m late to the thread, I know. Just want to say (again) how much I really enjoy these Hero threads. America produces some of the best: today’s contribution being no exception.
Whenever I read these, I go “WOW...”

Thanks Kathy. Yes, I think that is Brigitte that you heard on the radio. I highly recommend her book, “They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It”...What was especially scary was to hear her talk knowledgably about all of the terrorist cells in cities around the US. We are in danger of being attacked because we are “infidels”. We cannot ever forget 9/11 like so many of the Libs seem to have done. A pre 9/11 mentality will get us nowhere...Brigette’s book is a call to action. Should be required reading for all citizens.

Agreed about required reading. I don’t think the libs will every “get it” until their house takes the brunt of islam. *sigh*

To expand on that: a pre-9/11 mentality will get us all killed. I gotta wonder what your President thinks he’s doing!

I hope they didnt think you were chumming....making a garden just for them. Actually, I pulled the cabbages out to make room for spring planting. I wanted to put them into the compost anyway, so nothing is really lost. I still have five or six cabbage plants that have not matured enough to eat.

He will never be my President. He’s a fraud: born in Kenya and not a legit citizen.
He is also incapable of either running the country or keeping us safe, the latter of which is most important.
It will take a terrorist attack to wake the nation up.

Thanks Kathy - The 45th and the 498th were Medical Companies (Air Ambulance). I was in the 498th at Lane Army Heliport near Qui Nhon. The 45th was down south. The Med Co. each had 25 hueys that were assigned 6 to a platoon with one for the old man. The detachments consisted of six hueys with a Commanding Officer of their own.
The 54th, of which Patrick Brady lead, was one of the best regarded dustoff units in country. They set a very high bar for others.
