Post-Rush: Obama's message war
The Politico ^

Posted on 03/14/2009 4:40:28 PM PDT by Sub-Driver

Beginning Sunday, the White House will harness every part of the Democratic Party’s machinery to defend President Obama’s budget and portray Republicans as reflexively political, according to party strategists.

A participant in the planning meetings described the push as a successor to Democrats’ message that Rush Limbaugh is the Republican Party leader. “We have exhausted the use of Rush as an attention-getter,” the official said.

David Plouffe, manager of Obama’s presidential race, helped design the strategy, which includes the most extensive activation since November of the campaign’s grassroots network. The database—which includes information for at least 10 million donors, supporters and volunteers—will now be used as a unique tool for governing, with former canvassers now being enlisted to mobilize support for the president’s legislative agenda.

Others involved in the planning included White House senior adviser David Axelrod; the DNC chairman, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine; and DNC Executive Director Jennifer O'Malley Dillon.

The plan follows the private complaints of some Democrats that Obama let the GOP get the better of him during the debate over pork in the budget bill he just signed, and growing concerns among some Democrats that charges of big spending could stick to the president.

Starting this week, President Obama will be “engaging directly with Congress more, and speaking more forcefully on behalf of his budget,” a top adviser said.

On Sunday morning, three top White House officials will appear on network interview shows to describe brighter days ahead for the nation’s economy, and make the case that the budget is an important part of the president’s overall recovery plan.

Their internal polling must be terrifying them. I wasn't sure I completely believed Rasmussen's poll last week about Obama in a minor free-fall. But now, it has to be true or the Dummies wouldn't be mounting such a powerful campaign.

Steele had better use this as an opportunity to squelch criticism of him and produce an effective counter-strategy.

They're panicking because Zero IS a big spender, wants to raise people's taxes and throttle the economy.

Hes also appointing inexperienced pencil necked dweebs and crooks to Treasury and the OMB and is soft on national defense and terrorists.

We are one one major attack away from a complete collapse of the market.

The RNC couldn't find its ass with both hands.

Putting that idiot in charge instead of Blackwell is proof.

You mean you don't trust these guys on the economy?

They look so experienced and confidence inspiring.

"The RNC couldn't find its ass with both hands.

Hey, I didn't say i thought he could do it. But, if he doesn't, he's really is toast.

I'm not sure if Blackwell's the guy either. He ran an equally horrible campaign against Strickland and got killed by around 20 points. They should bring Haley Barbour back and in a hurry.

If one has donated and left an email, then occasionally one receives a message, but they tend to be rather bland.

I’ve yet to have one point out that if you are in College, supporting Obama is like a Cow supporting a Beef Cookbook..

I like Blackwell because he successfully fought the socialists in Ohio and kept them from stealing it for Kerry in 2004.

He knows how to counter their moves, maybe not run a great campaign, but at least he is a fighter.

Evan Bayh (D, IN) is definitely distancing himself from Baraq here in Indiana, despite the fact that the state went for BHO in the election.
Evan is a smart politician if nothing else.
He’s up for reelection in 010.
Polls and voter input must be telling him something.

“We have exhausted the use of Rush as an attention-getter,”

Translation: That kinda backfired on us.

Their latest msg dated 3/13/09:

The next few weeks will be some of the most important our movement for change has encountered yet.

Mitch wrote to you earlier this week about Organizing for America’s Pledge Project — an effort to identify and mobilize support across the country for the economic vision President Obama has outlined in his budget.

If you haven’t yet done so, pledge your support now and ask your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same:

http://my.barackobama.com/pledgeproject

The budget that passes Congress has the potential to take our country in a truly new direction — the kind of change we all worked so hard for. We didn’t fight to shy away from the tough long-term decisions Washington has ducked for far too long.

President Obama knows, as you do, that our future strength and prosperity depends on Washington finally taking the hard and smart steps in energy, health care, and education that will make sure America and its families are strong for decades to come.

And while his budget reflects those important values and priorities, the President also understands the government has to cut spending like so many families and businesses are being forced to do now. He invests where we need to and cuts where we must.

In the next few weeks we’ll be asking you to do some of the same things we asked of you during the campaign — talking directly to people in your communities about the President’s ideas for long-term prosperity. But first, start with your own pledge of support, and the support of your friends, family, and neighbors:

http://my.barackobama.com/pledgeproject

We know this fight won’t be easy. But important battles never are. Together, we have the opportunity to shape our country’s future. We believed in the power of people to win an improbable election victory. And we believe in the power of people to drown out the cynics and entrenched interests in Washington to bring lasting, meaningful change we can all be proud we played a role in.

Thanks,

David Plouffe

So, will Big Brother’s decree of a daily two minute hate against Rush Limbaugh now be expanded to target all Republicans as a group?

Obama campaign Restarted Ping!

Propaganda Attack begins

Obama's reaction to the Increasing disatisfaction with the horrrible truth on his stimulus plan as revealed by critics, is not to change a failing policy, but instead he will call out the Obama campaign to redefine reality.

This is NNOT good news for the economy.

The lying bas-turd has been telling the nation that “the economy is basically strong,” or the same message that he used to bludgeon McCain with it during the campaign.
