Meghan McCain has been making lots of enemies within the Republican Party. And Laura Ingraham certainly counts as one of them.
McCain, the 24-year-old daughter of former presidential candidate John McCain, grabbed headlines this week for taking on conservative author Ann Coulter, who McCain described as "offensive."
She kept up the attacks in a discussion with Rachel Maddow, when she intimated that Coulter’s comments make it difficult for the Republicans to court younger voters.
Well, none of this pleases radio host Laura Ingraham, who yesterday employed a Valley-girl voice to describe the 24-year-old McCain as "plus-sized." Here’s the transcript, via Think Progress:
OK, Meghan. Do you think that anyone would be talking to you if you weren’t kind of cute and you weren’t the daughter of John McCain? Or do you just think that they would just think that you were just another Valley girl gone awry?

OK, I was really hoping that I was going to get that role in the Real World, but then I realized that, well, they don’t like plus-sized models. They only like the women who look a certain way.
C’mon, Ingraham! McCain’s simply saying what she thinks about the party — no need to take on her weight, which, we think, is perfectly lovely. Now, ladies, can you kiss and make up?
Her mother is better looking.
Both, at once, would do just fine. :)

Yes, it is generous of you. I like Laura, too, which is why I hope she doesn’t swoop to personal insults again. (Let’s leave the tacky stuff to the liberals!)

Well I’m fat. Months of chemo, radiation all while being kept on steroids will bring out the chub in anyone, but I LOVE Ann and Laura too.

Laura, it’s quite clear that Ann Coulter doesn’t need you to fight her battles.

I see this is another thread to bash a Conservative Republican & to divide and push another agenda.

Meghan mccain “plays for the other team”?
She adopted from Mexico or Guatemala, and I think the jury is out regarding selfishness, as maybe this was the greatest thing to happen to that baby girl. Maybe cancer shook up Laura's priorities, and certainly it must have worked out wonderfully for the two involved. Two parent households are best, but not everyone gets one (some parents die).
But people here were so supportive. You'd think Laura could handle someone who struggled with their weight, since she has struggled with finding a husband.
Usually end up looking like this in their 50s...

Why’d Laura do a single-parent adotion?* With her looks and her solid, Catholic conservatism, she should have been married by now. C’mon, Laura, find someone and tie the knot already. :-)
