Laura was engaged to be married but the guy took a hike
when she told him she has cancer before her surgery and chemo after.
I think what happened (correct me if I am wrong, anyone) is that she had a serious man in her life, then she came down with breast cancer. And the guy ran. I remember that being fairly rough on her. However, we have no idea what the full story is.
All the best to her and her daughter though.
