Building upon the success of the February 27th "Chicago Tea Party" Rallies, many of the organizers are now working to develop an even larger day of protests set to happen on April 15th, 2009.

These protests are known as the Tax Day Tea Party rallies.

Our goal with this website is to try and help pull a lot of the Tea Party event organization in to one easy to navigate and user friendly place on the web. We learned, after much feedback, that one of the biggest frustrations was the difficulty in finding information. Our hope is that this website will solve a lot of these problems.

PLEASE explain the PURPOSE of the Tea Party??? I know it sounds like a dumb question....ostensibly...this is to get attention that we are MAD....but, WHAT does it accomplish? Entertainment for the liberal press?

Now...if we were going to actually withhold taxes, or everyone change to 9 deductions, or everyone get a delay on paying taxes....then maybe I’d understand.

The federal income tax code is beyond repair. It needs to be replaced. Anyone interested in replacing the federal income tax code with a national sales/consumption tax and abolishing the IRS via The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296) can become a Fair Tax supporter by signing a petition and have others also sign. I am all for witholding my witholding. If I lived in one of the states where the governo is threatening to suspend payment of federal taxes by its citizens, I would gladly send my state my federal withholding.

I firmly believe that these ‘tea parties’ ought to be directed at specific elected officials right in front of their offices and hold their feet to the proverbial fire.

We need to take a page right from the the left and Rules for Radicals:

Pick a target, freeze it , personalize it polarize it, indentify a responsible person and continue the pressure.

Flame away, but these tea parties do little but entertain the MSM when we hold them in front of a capital or at a Walmart parking lot.

The time for being polite has passed.

Even though the left has an echo chamber with the media, they have been very successful at targeting specific individuals.

Perhaps we should take a page from their playbook and “shine a bright light” on specific officials primarily for the benefit of the sheeple.

We conservatives seem to know quite well which elected officials caused many of these tax issues but the general public may not be quite aware.

Furthermore....MAYBE if TEA PARTIES were held in FRONT of BARNEY FRANKS office.....I’d be more interested (in supporting getting people there....I’m on the left coast.) Thousands in front of Frank and other “legislators” offices might get the press’s attention....and start to make the elected “officials” RETHINK their actions.....tea parties in general? Not so much, IMHO!

No flames from me, I think you're 1,000% correct. The point of any protest should be to inform the public about the problem and the solution to that problem, not just to show up somewhere and say 'hey look how many of us mad folks are here.'

These tea parties should be taking place at the offices of public officials, so that when the local media covers it (and they should be called), they have no excuse not to mention who the guilty party is.
