Alaska Gov. Palin's Daughter, Fiance Break Up
Fox ^ | 3/12/2009 | Fox

WASILLA, Alaska -- Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin, the teenage daughter of Gov. Sarah Palin, have broken off their engagement, he said Wednesday, about 2 1/2 months after the couple had a baby.

Johnston, 19, told The Associated Press that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin mutually decided "a while ago" to end their relationship. He declined to elaborate as he stood outside his family's home in Wasilla, about 40 miles north of Anchorage.

He also said some details of the breakup, rumors of which had been swirling on the Internet, were inaccurate.

Bristol Palin said in a statement that she was devastated about a report on Star magazine's Web site that quoted Levi's sister, Mercede, as saying Bristol "makes it nearly impossible" to visit the teenagers' infant son, Tripp. The baby was born Dec. 27.

Being from the old school, we have what is called a “shot gun wedding” and the baby has a daddy and a name. They can split when ever after that.

Sad but not unexpected. Another object lesson in why it’s bad to fool around before you’re married. Innocent little babies end up in broken homes.

This was one of the lead stories on my local news last night. I asked my wife if she could ever remember it being “news’ that a couple of 17 or 18 year old kids broke up? Of course not. The attacks on the Palin family continue.

MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the straight arrow, non-biased MSM have just experienced a combination of sexual ecstasy and philosophical fulfillment! No further need to cover those silly earmarks or non-tax paying hoards in the White House! Now we have some REALLY GOOD STUFF with which to delude and distract those dumb a$$es in the public.

Cant say I blame them. It’s not like they had no outside pressure or interference. I just hope the young man does his part to support the child. Then again, considering who the grandmother is he would be well advised to do the right thing.

Sad outcome, one made more likely by the jackals in the media. It looks like they decided Governor Palin was too tough a target, so they backed off of her and picked on her baby, Bristol, Bristol's baby, and the boyfriend. I can understand a teenage boy deciding that he wanted no part of a life with scum like the media always trailing him.

Where is today's Mr. Welch? [known for the line during Senator McCarthy's hearings, "You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"]

I posted here way back during the campaign that they would never marry....and I was correctomundo. I also posted a couple weeks ago that she should lay off the interviews on "abstinence" and related matters.....and keep her immature mouth shut. Man, was I lectured and flamed.

I hereby predict she will be a continual problem for Sarah because she wants to be a celebrity like her mother.....and combining attention-seeking and stupidness is a guaranteed disaster-in-waiting.

Go ahead and flame.......it's been cold here in Florida and I can use some heat.

I guess the constant media harrassment had it's share in making a normal relationship impossible. Good to see at least that he is rejecting some of the gossipy smears... I wish both of them the best and especially the child. He'll have a loving family with the Palins, and his mother will hopefully find a good husband soon.

At the same time I wish that we would stop judging political candidates solely through their children's decisions and behaviour. Going by that standard Conservatives like Thatcher, Goldwater and Reagan or Buckley and Keyes have to rank as abysmal failures.

WHO THE F* CARES?

Boy meets Girl, Girl gets pregnant - has a baby - Boy and Girl break up. Happens every freakin day!

This is NOT local news.

This is NOT national news.

This is NOT international news (there are reports in Swiss Papers about this!!)

Are we going to have front page headline news the next time Bristol has a late menstrual cycle?

When is this CRAP going to end?

That the country has come so far that such things are common occurances is a travesty - but - is this NEWS?

I think not.

/rant - sorry, been seeing the S**T all day and I’ve had enough.
