Meghan McCain, daughter of John, has written a column critical of Ann Coulter. Tonight she appeared on Rachel Maddows show to discuss the column and her efforts to push the Republican party in a more moderate direction.
I dont want to be too critical of Meghan. Shes 24, seems sincere and likable, and has the moxie to put herself out there. So let me offer a constructive suggestion: instead of telling us what you dont like about Republicans, tell us what you do. Meghan did say that she loves the Republican party. But why? If Republicans are going to listen to her message of moderation, theyre going to have be convinced that she shares most of their core principles.
Listening to her tonight on Maddow, and reading her anti-Ann column, the only Republican-y positions I heard were that Meghan is: opposed to pork, is pro-military and supported the war in Iraq and the surge. But other than that, she doesnt seem to share much with most Republicans. For example, we also learned that Meghan:

Her daddy’s 15 minutes are up-and hers never even started.
She should just go away—I don’t want her to keep reappearing every election like some 160 pond cold sore, running her yap on TV and undermining the GOP-we’ve got enough problems.
Tell her to change her name to Meagan McClain or something-and then ask her to see if she could get a job at Arby’s....
It’s too early—that’s 160 POUND cold sore...sorry
This woman’s a twit and has nothing of value to say.
Is that supposed to be Reagan on there?
My advise to Meghan: Try the salad bar.

LOL! Yeah, and go easy on the ranch dressing.
Lose 30 pounds.
Lose the rich girl attitude.
STFU.
You just come off as vapid and revengeful like most Columbia grads.
It took you this long to realize that John McAmnesty never had America's best interests at heart?
Well, better late than never.
I agree. In fact, as a Columbia College alum, I'll go further an say she's an embarrassment to my alma mater.
I don't like Ann Coulter any more than she does, but Meghan's sophomoric screed is no better than the crap Ann writes.
There are many to criticize as fellow alum of Columbia. She is not necessarily the one from which to start. I don’t say she doesn’t deserve it but she has done little to be called an embarrassment. I would start with Columbia alum Barack Hussein 0bama. There is plenty to criticize about our 44th President, including the socialization of our healthcare system (round 1 is almost over but there are many to follow), lies about tax cuts, spending in the first 30 days in office that exceeds spending from all the other Presidents that preceded him among other reasons for criticism.
I would strongly suggest you read some of Ann Coulter’s writings before you describe it as crap. It is far from that and it appears that your ignorance has caused you to have stepped in it.
She does have a job, if you call attacking conservatives on a far left-winged blog a job that pays.
It only proves to me she has no problem with the current direction Obama is taking this country. She’s about as clueless as an Obama voter.
In the scheme of things, she’s where Christopher Buckley and David Frum are at: on the outside looking in, being defended by far left-winged reprobates in the media and Hollyweird types who wouldn’t in a million years vote for her father, no matter who he was running against.
Yeah, with a knife stuck in his back.
Meghan doesn’t hold a candle to Ann Coulter. Ann Coulter tells it like it is, and doesn’t shy away from the tough interviews and she doesn’t couch her opinions in a bunch of whiny, goofy, childish nonsense.
Well said. Good to have you back, Sky!
