Meghan McCain, daughter of John, has written a column critical of Ann Coulter. Tonight she appeared on Rachel Maddows show to discuss the column and her efforts to push the Republican party in a more moderate direction.
I dont want to be too critical of Meghan. Shes 24, seems sincere and likable, and has the moxie to put herself out there. So let me offer a constructive suggestion: instead of telling us what you dont like about Republicans, tell us what you do. Meghan did say that she loves the Republican party. But why? If Republicans are going to listen to her message of moderation, theyre going to have be convinced that she shares most of their core principles.
Listening to her tonight on Maddow, and reading her anti-Ann column, the only Republican-y positions I heard were that Meghan is: opposed to pork, is pro-military and supported the war in Iraq and the surge. But other than that, she doesnt seem to share much with most Republicans. For example, we also learned that Meghan:

Her point is that the only way you’re going to slow the gallop toward Socialism to Marxism is to win elections.
The Cultural War is now front burner.
Capitalism vs. Socialism. Appeal to the growing army of Democrats and Independents that realize they blew it with their vote.
It’s good strategy to separate Ann Coulter from Mark Steyn. From Kyle-Anne Shiver.
Do you see my point?
If things continue to deteriorate...the RATS will get crushed in 2010 and beyond.
Fiscal Conservatives are on deck my FRiend.
Finally, 27 posts until I get to someone with a reasonable comment. Meghan McCain is far more qualified to be in Playboy than she is to comment on deeply complicated domestic social issues.
You know America has too many television and publication outlets when we stick a camera and microphone in front a 24 year old who's biggest accomplishment is hair and makeup.
You still working for Newsbusters??
You said — “They are just a bunch of two-face phonies”
Palin was simply “a means to an end” — not that McCain (either one) believed anything that she stood for... that’s the long and short of it...
I guess my point is I should have posted it to the person who originally posted the story.
I’m occasionally posting at NewsBusters but post most of my stuff at my own new site, FinkelBlog.
I used to think she was fat but she’s kind of cute. Rachel Maddow looks like Orzag.
The only real question is whether she’s really that stupid, or is she deliberately letting herself be used by the left?
Ok BTW maddow scares me
I advise her to shut her pie hole.
I wish you continued success.
Many thanks!
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Reagan would disagree that in order to win elections conservatives must move to the center. People will vote for candidates who show leadership ability, even if they don’t completely agree with political philosophy.
She was on Sean’s show and he asked her who she would like to see run as President in 2012 and she mentioned Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal. Sean asked her who else and she couldn’t name anyone.
HELLO, Meghan...what about Sarah Palin? I guess she doesn’t like her because she isn’t ‘moderate’ enough. Well, guess what...neither is Jindal.
Something obviously happened between Palin and her father. McCain better be glad he had Sarah or otherwise he would have finished FAR, FAR worse!
Maddow wouldn’t have allowed her on her show if she had anything nice to say about the Republican party!
That’s not allowed on DNmsnbC.
Sarah Palin BUMP!
Remember the song by the OJays called Smiling Faces?
smiling Faces, smiling faces tell lies, they don’t tell the truth.
What does a cute 24 year old poly sci major know about life and conservative politics that us old schoool conservatives don’t know?
