Reminder Post since the Tea Party threads are burying this important Defend Arlington Cemetery/Support the Troops Event.

A.N.S.W.E.R. will be in D.C. once again this March 21, 2009 for their march on the Pentagon.
Gathering of Eagles/Eagle Up will already have Eagles watching over the various Military Monuments and recruiter stations. If you want to help in this endeavor, contact concretebob.
But if you want to help protect the sanctity of Arlington Cemetery, we will be there.
FreeRepublic, along with any one who will join us, will once again occupy an area on the Virginia side of the Memorial Bridge on the south side of Arlington Circle.

PARKING for the Metro: There is a parking garage just 75 feet (25 yards for you military types) west of 16th Street on the NORTH side of both Eye and K Streets. A quick walk (1 1/2 block maximum) to the Farragut West station, hop onto the BLUE Line to Arlington Station.
The parking garages are 3/4 block east from the Farragut West station.
There is also a lot of street parking on the east side of the Foggy Bottom Station. Be watchful though of any metered parking spaces as they have a short time limit.
Please do NOT park in the Arlington Cemetery Parking garage.
There is a place to dropping off passengers where we are going to be at. Be mindful that the Memorial Bridge will be closed as ANSWER’s march gets close. And some roads on the north side of the Lincoln Memorial will also be closed.
It is anticipated by the Park Police that ANSWER will cross the bridge around 2PM and take an hour to cross. Personally I think it will be earlier and quicker since the leftist anarchist have their messiah in the White House to do their despicable deeds. They don’t need to march any more.

If you remember GoE I, it was cold, damp and very windy. This year the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic will have a tent, hot coffee, hot cocoa and some munches. We will also have posters for everyone, some courtesy of past GoE events. We will also have several bull horns.

If you are in town the Friday before, please stop by the Walter Reed FReep. We are at the corners of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW from 7PM till around 9:30PM when the dinner bus returns to Walter Reed. There is plenty of parking.
Also, Mark your Calendars for May 23, "Defend America Rally”. This is NOT a FR, GoE or Eagles Up event but sounds like a real good event to attend.
And June 13, “Victory in Iraq Rally amd March”, sponsored by Gathering of Eagles and Eagles Up but FReeRepublic will lend any help we can. Some help we can give is by donating money. Check with Concretebob to see if he needs any help. This march was originally slated for April 4 but the Cherry Blossom Festival superceded it.

"Officially, the organizer of the Washington demonstration was International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism). But ANSWER is run by WWP [Workers World Party] activists, to such an extent that it seems fair to dub it a WWP front. Several key ANSWER officials -- including spokesperson Brian Becker -- are WWP members. Many local offices for ANSWER’s protest were housed in WWP offices. Earlier this year, when ANSWER conducted a press briefing, at least five of the 13 speakers were WWP activists. They were each identified, though, in other ways, including as members of the International Action Center.
The IAC [International Action Center], another WWP offshoot, was a key partner with ANSWER in promoting the protest. It was founded by Ramsey Clark, attorney general for President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s."

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) was founded in 2004, following an organizational fissure within the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party (WWP) that resulted in three WWP member branches -- based respectively in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C -- breaking away to form their own group. Openly allied with the International ANSWER Coalition (which is intimately tied to Ramsey Clark's International Action Center), PSL has also established branches in New York City (in Harlem), Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, and West Chester, Pennsylvania.
A proponent of "revolutionary Marxism," PSL’s general raison d’etre is opposition to capitalism, which it defines as "the system in which all wealth and power is held by a tiny group of billionaires and their state," and the promotion of "socialism." The organization regards "U.S. capitalism" as the underlying cause of the war in Iraq (and all other wars) and regards "revolution" as the only viable alternative.

Though nominally an independent group, PSL mostly acts in concert with International ANSWER. A list of campaigns and events on PSL’s website provides a summary of demonstrations and protests organized by ANSWER. PSL is staffed largely by ANSWER activists, among whom is PSL’s “leader,” Brian Becker. Other PSL members include ANSWER activist Gloria La Riva, a former gubernatorial candidate in California and a longtime apologist for communist Cuba, as well as several ANSWER coordinators and organizers, among them Saul Kanowitz, Muna Coobtee, and Caneisha Mills.

BTW: This is a great post that YOU put together here. Thanks, and good luck to you and everyone who is going. Let the world know what scum these creeps are. Explain to people there who and what they are. That they aren’t really about “peace, love and togetherness”, unless it means living under communist dictatorship. That they always side with our country’s enemies, no matter what. That they are a bunch of spoiled misguided little brats who don’t appreciate how good they have it here in America.
These “peace” groups have been anything but peaceful towards the laws of the United States.
They have painted the steps of the Capitol and they have damaged numerous recruiter stations and military monuments across the United States. Their rhetoric is to bring down the current government of these United States and replace it with socialism, communism, whatever you want to call it.
While they are not constantly, violently, out there bombing or destroying buildings, or killing out elected representatives, they are hiding in the shadows. They do not want democracy to survive in America.

I don’t think Mad Max meant to say he thought they were a “peace” group. He knows they were founded by the Workers World Party, an org which is allied with the Stalinist regime in North Korea. WWP supported Saddam Hussein, the ChiCom government’s murder of hundreds of students in the Tienanmen Square, Castro’s revolution, Che’s murderous activities, Hugo Chavez, etc, etc. Can hardly be “anti-war” when you support violent things and people like these.
