So, I'm too embarrassed to post this under my usual name, so I'm using this name. I was out trying to shoot gopher today...I know, it's stupid, but I'm so fed up, and I saw one of those little b@stards starting to poke through. I grabbed the shortbarrel shotgun and went to get it, but while creeping up on it, I hit the tigger. The spray didn't hit me directly, but it shot at the big rock I was standing on, and ricocheted back and hit my ankle. Stung pretty badly. I walked back to the house and sure enough there are two round bleeding wounds on my ankle. I felt around but can't find any shot anywhere. I don't know if it was the pellets that hit me, or some bits of granite off the rock. My ankle feels okay...still stings, and and hour and a half later.
Just thought I would get some freeper advice. Should I be concerned about this or just clean it up and ignore it? Thanks!
Was Dick Cheney in your hunting party?
Cheney didn’t shoot himself.
Why was your finger on the trigger? just asking. . . .
Go rent & carefully review a copy of “Caddyshack”.
Yeah, he shot someone else...thus the joke.
Nice try.
there’s a strange smell in the area
I’d wait a couple years and then have them removed as alien implants...
Don’t take it too hard; any shooting accident that everyone walks away from is a learning experience.
I have been peppered in the neck by falling shot while dove hunting.
You can feel it. It hurts a bit. But no harm.
i figured out the smell, it’s bull****!
Aye.....
You should go to the ER. May be embedded in the skin.
If not I'd watch it very closely for any developing infection. A deep infection can be very bad.
Most definitely. Clean the shotgun, put it away, and ignore it.
well, as far as I know they don’t use lead shot anymore, but still, might want to pop into a doctor in the morning and get it checked out, get a tetanus shot if you need it. Better safe than sorry, its hard to walk with just one foot.
short-barrel shotgun my @ss! for a gopher? PLEASE!
A less dangerous approach is the vibrating stakes that you pound into your lawn. I had a gopher last year. Two stakes carefully placed drove the bugger out of the year. Gopher gas bombs are also possible. A bit more aggressive than the stakes. I have dogs, so I didn't want any poison in the yard. Stakes and Rat Terriers are a pretty effective way to chase them away.
Get checked before you have a more serious problem than a couple stinging spots on your ankle.
Ever been hit by ZOT?
