On December 5, 1969 police raided the apartment of Black Panther leader Bobby Rush. They found a handgun, ammunition for various weapons, marijuana, an IED explosives manual, and communist literature including Che Guevara and Mao Tse-Tung. Bobby Rush served six months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.
On January 6, 2009 Congressman Bobby Rush (Democrat, Illinois) introduced H.R.45, the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. This bill, if signed into law would require all owners of hand guns and semiautomatic firearms to register for a federal firearms license. All sales of the subject firearms would have to go through a licensed dealer. The bill would also make it a criminal act not to register as an owner of a firearm.
The YouTube video contains three news clips from 1969.
the Rush that Obama and the media should go after
Oooh...good idea.
C’mon photoshoppers, we need a graphic that’s simple enough the drivebys can even understand it:
On the left:
Bobby Rush “Wrong Rush”
On the right:
Rush Limbaugh “Right Rush”
Bobby Rush, #1 fan of Sen. Roland Burris “Because it’s an African-American Seat”.
Register them? Why? Tell us the real reason...
This is lousy legislation, and all Reps need to be told to defeat it.
It’s time to take back the country...
2. I am sorry to see that Mr. Rush, in his present capacity, would not extend to me the same courtesy.
See tag.
Anyone here believe that instructions for the bill did NOT originate clandestinely from Marxist Obama and his handlers?

Thanks for the link, had not seen it before.
Had a good friend that I worked with for almost 15 years who had a scrape with the Panthers when he was in college in Colorado.
He was on a football scholarship and the football players would sweep the floor of the gym before basketball games. Some of the Panthers tried to disrupt the game and the “jocks” broke up their fun.
When they went back to their dorm room, a Molotoff coctail was thrown through one of the dorm windows. They were not in that room but next door, and escaped injury.
This prompted the “jocks” (redneck type) to get their shotguns and chase the perps. A high speed chase took place and the Panther’s car ran into a bridge embankment. All of the Panthers were killed.
The police did not know what to do with the “jocks”, they did not want more problems with the Panthers, and the judge told my friend that he was either to leave the State of Colorado for a period of years (6-8?) or they would put him in jail.
He left and went to Arkansas to college.
He was a character. He cheated death several times, but died in a car accident on icy roads going hunting with his son.
Thanks for posting this retrogo. I’ll be forwarding this thread to a lot of people.
I was hoping for a happy ending to your story. It started out that way with all of the Black Panthers getting killed, but went downhill from there!
The final accident is more involved than I presented, but it is not something to present here. Have not talked to his widow since his death. No longer work for that company, but a competitor.
My friend and his wife were stockholders of the company. Have heard about internal disputes within the Co. since his death but have no knowledge of what has happened since.
Before the accident he was struck by lightning on the golf course, and in another incident shot with a shotgun while hunting pheasant. (his hunting jacket and glasses prevented it killing him that time, and distance from shotgun) He was a good shot. Of the employees of the company, he and I were the only 2 who had done a lot of that. He was a raskal, but a very bright talented guy.
I miss his friendship.
Hey Bobby! Shut your dam piehole a$$clown. You're the same imbecile you were 40 years ago. Without the 'fro.
When they outlaw guns........
Only the government will have guns.
Still a lot of pain there. May the G-d of Abraham, Issac and Jacob send the Comforter for you and your family and his family.
Too bad Hillary is not Secy of state - she defended the black panthers before.
Well, I don't have the marijuana, but I have all the rest. I believe in studying my enemies.
Darn it, Obama was only eight when that happened...
*cough
(walks away a piece, turns back)
‘This is just another distraction’.
But to save a trip, this isn’t the Rush I used to know.

RCP calls for the armed overthrow of the U.S. government!
From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.
And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

PROFILE: BOBBY RUSH:
* Democratic Member of Congress
* Member of the radical Progressive Caucus
* In 1968, went AWOL from the U.S. Army
* Co-founder of the Illinois branch of the Black Panther Party
* In 1969, served six months in jail for an illegal weapons conviction
* Advocates reparations for African Americans
"Bobby Rush has described his involvement with the Black Panthers as part of his maturation process, as a youthful indiscretion that he abandoned immediately after Hampton's death. He described his role mostly as running the Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast for Children program.
But Bobby Rush served six months in jail for a 1969 illegal weapons conviction and, even after his release, in 1971 his comrades were still describing him as the 'Deputy Minister of Defense' for the Black Panther Party in Illinois. In 1992 the socialist magazine In These Times praised fledgling congressional candidate Rush, writing that he 'has continued to support progressive policies and has never disavowed his Panther past...."

[1960s/original] Black Panther Party [BPP] Archives
From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES
"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo.
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."
