It of course goes without saying that the war on Rush Limbaugh is continuing apace. Democrats are nothing if not committed to untenable positions. The more untenable the better, in fact. As we’ve endeavored to point out here at Redstate, this is all a White House distraction tactic, and it’s being executed by friendly media taking directions. The left online, naturally, jumped on board faster than a Democrat on a filmmaker. It’s simple to understand, really. They don’t want you to think about Obama’s broken campaign promises and inept first month. So they need a distraction. They have replaced the B with an R in their favorite distraction action: hobgoblinery. (Well it sounds like a real word!)

I say bring it on! It was reported on this site yesterday that Rush has sold advertising revenue in the first two months of this year equal to 80% of ALL of last years revenue, and he will probably be sold out by the end of this month! Keep going dems!
This is a two-prong attack on Rush and the Conservatives.
The first prong of attack is to claim that Rush is the leader of the conservatives, who are the chief opponents to Obama’s plan of economic destruction.
The fact that this has been pointed out as a way to distract the nation from the reality of Oabam’s plans and failures, has angered the leftists. To top it off, they are learning that Rush’s ratings are going through the roof.
That leads to the second prong of attack. They will now claim, “See! Rush is the leader of the GOP! More people are jumping on his band wagon!”
The leftists will then push for the “Fairness Doctrine” to be passed or an equivalent of it rushed through legislation. Just watch.
In the mean time, Go! Rush Go!
The Democrats are like a daughter who is hesitant about marrying her boyfriend but decides to march down the aisle after her father launches an incessant, disingenuous campaign to discredit him and she feels compelled to keep defending him.
Is it possible that the Dems are causing indies and moderates to walk to the dark side and listen to Rush out of curiosity?
Rush’s audience has doubled because of his CPAC speech and Obama. This can only be helpful to the Republican cause, but first they must get on board and decide to become conservatives again.
It’s a war. The only question is who will weaken first. The left has at its disposal the power of the media, academia and government.

By picking fights with Rush instead of effectively doing your job, you give the impression that you are in waaaaay over your head and that you need a Straw Man to fight against to divert attention from your incompetence.
Then again, maybe that is not an impression but the depressing fact.
