Poor Baby Obama: I Have To Make The ‘Really Hard’ Decisions
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/08/2009 6:30:37 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Two big stories emerged from Pres. Obama’s interview with New York Times reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday:

1. we have a whining, self-pitying president. 2. The Times scrubbed from its article the worst of the president’s comments, the ones that revealed him in that self-pitying light.

Fortunately, the Today show had the tapes, and played them this morning. According to Today, when President Obama met with reporters from the New York Times yesterday aboard Air Force One, his goal was “trying to sound hopeful and reassuring.” Mission not accomplished. As ambivalent as were the president’s putatively reassuring words on the economy, the delivery was even worse–halting and anything but assured. Be sure to view the video.

But much worse was his whining when it came to the burdens of his office:

PRES. OBAMA: I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.

A bit later came this stunning statement, edited out of the Times story but broadcast by Today

You are exactly right! The Ebony ectomorph has been cosseted his entire life, primarily by guilt ridden white liberals and a groveling, compliant press. He even felt compelled to write two self-serving biographies of puerile mush. I’ve always maintained that he’s a media creation with no substance whatsoever. I always thought it’d be great to have a black person as President, but not because they’re black, but rather, despite that fact. He is where he is because he’s black and he’s been foisted upon us as a messianic figure. He is a total nonentity, without substance. Alas, the Ubiquity of Bullshit marches on.

your birth certificate could potentially come out at any point to spoil the legend

By gosh, I think you may have something here. When it becomes more and more evident that this guy is the louse we have known him to be for the past 2+ years, poof out comes the birth certificate showing he is ineligible and he goes home to Chicago with Michelle and kids in tow....

I think Obama is feeling a bit like the dog who unexpectedly catches a car...”I got it; now what do I DO with it???”

That’s one perspective. The other is that he is aggressively trying to reshape America from a (mostly) Capitalist system to a mostly Socialist one. Which is it? I would err on the side of caution and choose the latter. Its always better to overestimate your adversaries than underestimate them (as Hillary did).

The fact is that all new Presidents have a burn in period. This was especially true with Bill Clinton. Even if Obama is a figurehead, he is being used to reshape America to a facist Leftist state.

You omitted his self mandated few hours a day in the gym.
Every day.
Otherwise you were spot on.

This guy wants the total job to be reading dreamy speeches from his teleprompter and getting cheered....because that is all he is qualified to do.

Blame the media who helped put this empty suit in the drivers seat. His entire past is hidden and unavailable. The media never wanted to dig because they probably knew that the truth would kill the made for TV image.

So now? Graying hair. No breaks except for a few hours of sleep in the evening. Meetings that lead to more meetings, that lead to more meetings. Decisions must be made, and then remade.

He needs to channel RR. He found time to take a nap or 2 even while having to deal with the old soviet union and its minions. RR had a really bad economy when he got in as well.

Interesting- at the end of the transcript in the NYT’s- Obama actually calls the reporter back to discuss the “are you a socialist” question...

...
“At 2:30 p.m., President Obama called The New York Times, saying he wanted to clarify a point from the interview. Here is a transcript of that brief call:

President Obama: Just one thing I was thinking about as I was getting on the copter. It was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question. I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement – the prescription drug plan without a source of funding. And so I think it’s important just to note when you start hearing folks through these words around that we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles and that some of the same folks who are throwing the word socialist around can’t say the same.

what have we done? Obama is clueless...

by the time something reaches my desk, that means it's really hard...

Any sixth grader knows that, and he had to have it "noted" to him after he was elected?

Pres_ _ent Obama and his SS-MSM.

"Not a moslem."
"Not a terrorist supporter."
"Not a socialist."
"Not a Marxist."
"Not working to destroy the United States of America in a financial blitzkrieg."

"Never mind."

Der Fuhrer didn’t realize that he might have to deal with a few real issues before imposing his Marxist dictatorship. Evidently he figured the emperor designation would come right away.

All I have to do is wait till he cracks and then move in.

What a sad irony it would be. After numerous failed attempts to get the nomination, Plagiarizing Plugs gets to the White House on a cheat sheet named Obama.

As somebody said the other day, Plugs is stupid, Obama is EVIL. Stupid wins over evil every time.

You nailed it!! He just keeps barking at the car, like he did when he was chasing it.
