Poor Baby Obama: I Have To Make The ‘Really Hard’ Decisions
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/08/2009 6:30:37 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Two big stories emerged from Pres. Obama’s interview with New York Times reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday:

1. we have a whining, self-pitying president. 2. The Times scrubbed from its article the worst of the president’s comments, the ones that revealed him in that self-pitying light.

Fortunately, the Today show had the tapes, and played them this morning. According to Today, when President Obama met with reporters from the New York Times yesterday aboard Air Force One, his goal was “trying to sound hopeful and reassuring.” Mission not accomplished. As ambivalent as were the president’s putatively reassuring words on the economy, the delivery was even worse–halting and anything but assured. Be sure to view the video.

But much worse was his whining when it came to the burdens of his office:

PRES. OBAMA: I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.

A bit later came this stunning statement, edited out of the Times story but broadcast by Today

He’s not the clean articulate black guy.

The media will always support whoever the leading Democrat is.

Like day and night.

President Bush: "I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon."

president bambi: "Somebody noted to me that by the time something reaches my desk, that means it's really hard. Because if it were easy, somebody else would have made the decision and somebody else would have solved it."

“...decisions he made in what he believed were the best interests of America.”

Bingo. With GWB it was all about our country. With BHO it is all about him. Standard narcissist move.

And by the way, Mark, this post and your blog and analysis is the reason conservatives need never more bother listening to Beltway “conservative” pundits. We here at FRee Republic consistently receive much better commentary from FRiends like you. I’m sure I speak for many when I say thanks for all you do.

The Drive-By Media is truly an antique.

You mean being POTUS is not just getting to fly around on AF One and read from a teleprompter? Not to mention Wednesday night parties at the White House with Stevie Wonder and $100/lb Waygu steaks. What a bummer, I feel sorry for Zero.

Sincere thanks, abb: I can’t tell you how encouraging it is to me to receive comments like yours from a fellow FReeper.

I have to say that I just wrote to a friend saying I feel this item is the most important I’ve written since I launched my own FinkelBlog site in January.

He seriously didn’t believe all he was going to do was sit behind a big desk and look Presidential?

I pray the US media is so scorned and mocked by the world press in the way they are obviously covering up for the stupid way he treated the British PM and dumb red button thing that SOMEONE finally realizes they had better get to being journalists and not brown nosers for Obama.

I can dream can’t I?

Bush did it 24/7 for eight years without a whimper.

...While under constant, viscious attacks from the media, the dems, and various far left radical groups.

Yes, he blew the British PM visit because he was “tired”. Excuse excuse excuse.

This is what happens when you reward affirmative action. The person, regardless of race or gender, isn’t qualified and they can’t handle the position they didn’t earn.

Can anyone identify a decision that he didn’t get pre-decided from the teleprompter? Pinocchio with the strings attached.
