Rasmussen Poll: Honeymoon ending quickly
Data from Rasmussen, historical polling ^ | 03-07-09 | Dangus

Posted on 03/07/2009 2:57:19 PM PST by dangus

RasmussenReports' new daily tracking poll has President Barrack Obama receiving his lowest approval rating since immediately after the election, 56%. 43% of Americans generally disapprove of his performance, 31% strongly do.

Obama's approval rating was immediately after the election was 52%. As is typical after an election (according to longer-standing polls, such as Gallup), America put aside its partisan feelings, giving the newly elected the benefit of the doubt: his approvals rose to 67% over the course of the next month, peaking at 69%. They stayed in that range, which was high even for a newly elected president, until inauguration day.

Since his inauguration, Obama's presidential approval index (Rasmussen's measure of strong approval minus strong disapproval) plunged by nearly three quarters. Within a week, his approval rating reached 60%; It;s fluctuated slightly within each week, bouncing as high as 63%, but his weekly approval rating average has declined each week.

Each new low has occurred over a weekend; each midweek sees his approval ratings bounce slightly, so he may be slightly better off then 56%. A week ago, he polled at 58%, and Newsweek's most recent poll matches that. Fox News, on the other hand is closer to 63%.

Other presidents' approval ratings have surged in this time. President George W. Bush was inaugurated with approval ratings barely cracking 50%, but they surged to the mid-60s. Reagan's moved from the mid-50s to nearly 70%. George H.W. Bush's reached the high 70s. Clinton moved to the mid-60s; Kennedy and Carter also reached the 70s. Only the unelected Gerald Ford saw his approval ratings decline so soon after inauguration.

Take a breath.
Calm down.

Try this prayer:

“God Grant me the Serenity to accept the things

I CAN NOT CHANGE

The Courage

To Change the things I CAN

And, the WISDOM

To KNOW the DIFFERENCE!”

Sebelius will be confirmed, unless something big, besides the abortion issue itself, comes out.

Brownback can not stop the Sebelius confirmation.

I know the history of the Kansas abortionists, the prolife resistance, and the several mistakes that have been made, in this state.

Again, people like you called Joan Finney a “traitor” for signing the bill into law that is now being used to prosecute Tiller. ALL and Operation rescue were WRONG then.

Judy Brown and RTLK fought Parental Consent legislation, in Kansas, out of nothing but pride, not wanting to let the National Right to Life Committee or Kansans for Life have a political or legal victory.

Judy Brown is politically incompetent.

Operation Rescue is politically incompetent.

I am not saying that I disagree with their goals, I am saying that they are, unfortunately, their own worst enemies most of the time.

Brownback is NOT a traitor, you simply disagree with his tactics and strategy.

You have been raising great points that don't get said enough!

In pursuit of the perfect we have given our enemies victory. I think most don't understand the difference between tactics and strategy. Tactics are how we move towards fulfillment of a strategy.

In the case of abortion the strategy is to limit it to the lowest number possible. The tactics are how we develop the support and remove opposition.

Banal noises and condescending comments are unimpressive. Brownback needs to hear from people, Sebby needs to hear from Brownback that killing babies is EVIL. You accept his duplicity, I do not.

Nobody has accepted “duplicity” in any way shape or form.

Jesus ate with tax collectors and prostitutes.

He was criticized by the Pharisees, as if he had “endorsed” the tax collectors and prostitutes.

Lincoln worked with loyal Northerners who owned Slaves.

You are simplistic, and obviously egotistical.

Are you in the battle to prove you are “better” than everyone else, or are you in it to win?

To win, at politics, you must ADD people to your ranks.

You seem far to intent on kicking people out, which makes you a political loser.

Yawn. Brownback has said he will support the appointment of a babykiller to the office of Secretary of Health and Human Services where she will spread death and destruction and you compare that to Our Lord, who when confronte4d by sin did not embrace it but said, “go and sin noi more” for adult sins, for those who harmed the children He said, “Better they were never born”.

Play all the word games you want, you are embracing the blood of innocents with your defense of the Rino Brownback. It is EVIL you emvrace and defend. Very sad.

However, part of Obama’s decline IS because of Obama’s radical social views, which were hidden by the media, until now.

Yup. Hidden in plain sight. Of course That was merely Humor. Wasn't it?

You are confusing pride with being pious.
You are casting judgment when the judgment is not yours to cast.
No actual harm will come, from what Brownback has done, so far.
Much can be gained, by getting Sebelius out of Kansas.
Nothing will be gained, by keeping Sebelius out of the HHS position.

Strategy and tactics are not your strong point. That has always been the case with ALL and Operation Rescue types.

Shoot your friends down, call your natural allies “traitors” and pretty much let Tiller win by default.

I have seen it happen time and time again.

Bash Brownback and you are helping Tiller.

I have never supported Tiller on a legislative issue. Your friends Judy Brown and the American Life Lobby have been on the same side as Tiller, several times, that is why our laws are so screwed up, in Kansas.

Point taken -—
to a point!

The New Yorker was making fun of US with that cartoon cover.

The New Yorker thought that conservatives were nuts, because we KNEW who Obama was, but the New Yorker did not agree, at that time.

The New Yorker was never trying to make fun of Obama.

LOL you are simply confused. You think that endorsing evil is a “tactic”, it is not, it is simply the embrace of evil. The stench of the blood of the innocent surrounds that sort of soft headed, evil thinking.

If you were anywhere near as knowledgeable as you pretend to be you would know that it is Judie Brown of the American Life League.

Aside from that, you are WRONG.

Well, gee, I spelled her name wrong.
So what.
I talked to the misguided Judie Brown, on the phone, when Kansans for Life and the National Right to Life Committee were trying to get Parental Consent, in Kansas.

RTLK, and Judie Brown, head of the national ALL affiliate, to RTLK, was reminded, by ME, that ALL had supported Parental Consent laws, in other states.

You see, RTLK and ALL were upset, since the intelligent, competent prolife groups, NRLC and KFL, were growing quickly, and learning how to get things done. The self destructive RTLK and ALL did not want KFL and NRLC to have legislative victory.

So, Judie Brown, ALL and RTLK shot down Parental Consent, in Kansas, saying it was “immoral to give ANYONE ‘consent’ to have an abortion” and that KFL was making a “compromise with evil” (the incompetent prolifers worn out phrase).

I reminded Judie Brown that she had supported the EXACT SAME LAW in other states. She admitted as much, but said that their “strategy” was different, in Kansas.

I told her she was working out of pride and not principle, and that she was just jealous that NRLC and KFL had made so much progress.

Believe it or not, she did not argue with me.

Nobody in their right mind would follow you.

You have a tendency to shoot in the wrong direction.
