Dean under consideration for surgeon general: report

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Howard Dean, a practicing physician before entering politics, was under consideration by the Obama administration for the post of U.S. surgeon general, CNN reported Friday.
Dean, who recently wrapped up a four-year term as Democratic Party chairman, has been a supporter of health reform, and has privately made clear that he is interested in the job, according to the cable network.
CNN said two White House officials noted that, while it is too early to compile a list of candidates for surgeon general, they did not rule out Dean getting the job.
"I would not dismiss it," one of the White House officials said of the possibility that Dean will be selected.

LOL. A cynical make jobs ploy on O’s part. Appoint Dean Surgeon General, instantly make millions sick, hire thousands of health-care Workers to clean up the mess.
Makes about a much sense to me as the Stimulus Bill does.

He must have had the same thing happen as the other guy who Biden called to congragulate on getting the job then after a few weeks of no word he called to find out when he was supposed to start working only to find out they gave the job to someone else.

After his “Republican Response” following Obama’s speech to Congress, they realized that Jindal wasn't as a big a threat as they thought he might be, so there's no pressing need to ingratiate themselves to the Indian community anymore.
