The last time Spector had the backing of the White House administration. This time.... well, he’ll probably have the backing of the White House administration.

And until the election, this challenge can be used to beat him over the head and keep him voting our way.

Great news! He would have defeated Spectre had W not gone and campaigned for Spectre.

Most of the voters of Pennsylvania are braindead. We couldn’t even defeat John Murtha, who has clearly trashed the military. If Toomey wins the primary, he loses to whichever member of the media the democrats decide to run.
To: GOPGuide
Spector will not hold his seat, but he needs to be defeated by Toomey. He and other like-minded RINOs need to understand that losing is a consequence of being too liberal.

Does this guy have a prayer in the general if he somehow get past Specter in the primary? Although, I'm convinced Specter would pull a Lieberman if unseated in the primary.
What about Lynn Swann? Did he get crushed against Big Daddy Ed Rendell?
To: GOPGuide
Former Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) will challenge Sen. Arlen Specter in a primary for the second straight cycle, according to Pennsylvania GOP sources. And this time Bush won't be around to help his amnesty-supporting friend out.

Now if we can get Bush to come out of retirement and
endorse Specter again that should help Toomey's prospects this time.

Hey Republicanwizard, where ya been? Looks like your buddy Arlen Specter has been in the news a lot lately. Remember six years ago where you defended the guy and insisted 2004 would be his last campaign? So much for that, eh?
Sooooooo... you still voting for liberal Arlen in the GOP primary because Bush tells you to?

I traveled with a pro-life group (CBR) that had the RCC truck campaign in 2004.
Basically, it was nothing more than a bunch of trucks with aborted babies on the side (fetuses).
Some people felt that pro-life action like that helped narrow that particular race...
