Michael Steele has just dipped his toe into the water and is already in over his head.

Steele has been the chairman of the Republican National Committee for only about a month, and already there is speculation that he may be on his way out.

By "speculation", I hope he means the movers are their packing his a$$ up. Goodbye and good riddance.

Why do they call it the RNC, when it’s really the RINONC ?

I actually thought Steele would be great. I say let’s wait and see. It’s early.

Anyone can screw up when you get on TV.

Your source is full of old Wash. Post hacks.

Obama is destroying America with his Marxist programs

“Steele has somehow gotten it into his head that hard-core Republicans want to expand the party base to attract new voters, especially minorities.

As Steele told Time magazine when he was running for his job: “I’ll tell local chairmen, ‘If you want to be chairman under my leadership, don’t think this is a country club atmosphere where we sit around drinking wine and eating cheese and talking amongst ourselves. If you don’t want to drill down and build coalitions to minority communities, then you have to give that seat to someone who does.’”

True to his word, after he was elected chairman, Steele told The Washington Times that he wanted an “off the hook” public relations offensive to reach out to “the young, Hispanic, black — a cross section” and apply party principles “to urban-suburban, hip-hop settings.”

____________________________________________________________________________________________

So what does he do? Abandons “party principles” and goes on Tavis Smiley and D.L. Hughley and instead of confronting them head-on and explaining WHY conservative principles are good for ALL Americans, he panders as flatfootedly as any country-club, whitebread.

Wow. Heavy. Way-cool.

Roger Simon accusing Rush of being a country club Republican when, in fact, Rush constantly criticizes country club Republicans.

The fact that the liberals are now backing Steele indicates that they know where Steele’s true loyalties lie.

Politico...doing their best to keep the dust up alive per instructions from Rahm and Obama.

Don’t look now everyone...The stock market is crashing and Rahm and Obama don’t want us to notice it.

He’s gotta go.

It’s not that he doesn’t get it. It’s the fact he’s a RINO.

As a country-club whitebread, I must admit that when pandering, I am very flatfooted. I'm sure it has something to do with my European ancestry or the like.

I was initially hopeful, but his stance on RKBA and Affirmative Action is the same as Obama. I thought his stance on the 2nd Amendment was due to ignorance and just because he is unfamiliar with gun ownership, but recent quotes do not bear that out.

I left the Republican Party three days ago, when it dawned on me what the appointment of Steele really meant.

It means that instead of an organization based on conservative principles that would attempt to find suitable candidates for elective office, they are going to promote an organization based on pandering to various groups they think are important.

They are going to try to out-liberal the liberals, and it is never, ever going to work.

Remember why Steele was picked. RNC memebers had reservations about Ken Blackwell’s competence after losing by 30 points against Ted Strickland. They also feared the PR nightmare about electing Kat Dawson, SC Chair, who had membership in a whites only country club. It goes to reflect how the GOP lacks quality leadership.
