We should have just thrown money into the Hurricane as it blasted the coast. It probably would have been cheaper than the never-ending rebuilding project in New Orleans.

I wonder how much of our money has actually been spent on rebuilding. I would guess not more than 1/4 of what’s been sent down there.

All I read was the beginning. THEY ARE GIVING MORE MONEY TO LOUISIANA FOR KATRINA???? WTF???

This is getting ugly.

I cannot believe it, the levels...more and more and more.

Can't sleep...sigh. Drugs, need drugs. Too bad I don't 'do' drugs.

End of rant

It’s called ‘redistribution.’

How do you like that. Being a substance abuser qualifies you as disabled so you can collect the benefits.

Oh great more money going to deadbeats and corrupt politicians.

I say screw New Orleans. The local politicians squandered hundreds of millions of dollars intended for levy maintenance on hotels, casinos, boats, airplanes, etc, etc, etc.

Hopefully they will fill up their buses with other than water and get out of town before the next “cane” officially reclaims this bottomland. A typical, high maintenance, big money, liberal cesspool.
At least “looter man” worked for his beer. :-)

October 3, 2006:

"The St. Bernard Parish Water Treatment Plant - $2.1 million for repairs that include new pump motors, water storage tanks, and renovations to various administrative buildings"

March 5, 2009;

"FEMA also approved $12 million in additional funding to help repair the St. Bernard Parish Water Treatment Plant."

They already fixed it. What the hell, are they going to tear it down and re-do it?

This isn’t ‘Recovery’ funding - it is ‘entitlement enabling’ funding, period. Payoff for good little Democrat votes cast and to be cast.

Seems mighty strange that the Gulf coast doesn't get much attention and their share of the pork.

Don't suppose that the reason is........

Hmmm! Never mind. Think I've figured it out and don't want to be censured for racially insensitive remarks.

Give it to Jindal — not the mayor of New Orleans!

You don’t understand. To get anything done south of I-10 (I-12) in La. you have pay (bribe) everybody involved in getting the job done (including the lady who puts her approved stamp on the paperwork) and their kin all the way down to third and fourth cousins.

Apparently, “levees” must be constructed out of bales of crisp $100 bills, and New Orleans needs a whole lot of “levees”.

Anyone have any info as to the grand total of Federal money spent in LA on Katrina? I suspect it exceeds a $$million per resident,
