Now some, including Rush Limbaugh, would say I am on another enemies list: that of the White House. Limbaugh says there are only a handful of us on it, and if I am on it for defending all of the shareholders out there, then I am in good company. Limbaugh -- whom I do not know personally, but having been in radio myself, know professionally as a genius of the medium -- says, "They're going to shut Cramer up pretty soon, too, but he'll go down with a fight."

Cramer is jealous of Santelli’s time in the spotlight over at CNBC. It worked, he’s back on top.

Cramer is a bit kooky. He says this deep into the article:

To be totally out of the closet, I actually embrace every part of Obama's agenda, right down to the increase on personal taxes and the mortgage deduction. I am a fierce environmentalist who has donated multiple acres to the state of New Jersey to keep forever wild. I believe in cap and trade. I favor playing hardball with drug companies that hold up the U.S. government with me-too products.

But, Cramer says, we need to wait until better economic times to do all this nonsense. Nutjob.

I agree. When we let liberals be liberals (Carter, Obama) and not force them into conservative policies against their will (Clinton), our side usually wins. Not because our side is made up of geniuses, but because a liberal allowed to enact his true beliefs unfettered by opposition will fail every time. The only question is how much lasting damage will they do to the country while practicing liberalism.

He's not just making nice-nice. He is paying for their 2009 Q1 operations. Or more accurately, he is making your grand-children pay for their 2009 Q1 opertions.

Cramer supported the troops is a capitalist. Unfortunately, he thinks the government can meddle in the economy, just a little.

I'm hearing more and more people who were shocked that Obama is so radical---people who voted for him.

Rush is right, this will take a while, and it's not going to happen overnight. People don't like to admit they are wrong. But within six months, his approval ratings will equal Bush's.

As bad as things are right now, the economy was in worse shape in the mid 70s and early 80s. Unemployment was at 10% in 1982. When we reach 10% unemployment, then the Messiah’s favorabilities will decline. A lot of the young Messiah worshippers don’t think about retirement funds. However when they can’t find jobs, then they will think twice about worshipping him.

Yes, unemployment (and inflation) were both much worse in the late 1970s. But the debt as a share of GNP was nowhere close; SS and Medicare, while underfunded in the long run, were not yet bankrupt; and while companies such as GM and Chrysler were struggling, they were still close to the top. Much has changed, though.

The banking system cannot survive as is: we will either have to deregulate or nationalize; GM, Ford, and Chrysler must be allowed to collapse and be broken up into smaller, leaner competitors; the mortgage industry is still going to get a massive round of defaults after people who CAN pay say "No" based on the fact that they expect bailouts; and so on.

The expectations were different, too. In 1970, it was still believed that people should work for their income; that government only acted as a last resort for national security (Chrysler, Lockheed); and that the goal was a balanced budget. None of those are true today.
