California corrections officials say the state will no longer spend the estimated $10 million a year it costs to lock up undocumented immigrants with prior convictions who reenter the country illegally after being deported. In the past, the state kept them on parole after deportation and incarcerated them for parole violations when they reentered the country illegally. But a federal court has ordered California to reduce the population of overcrowded prisons.

hey, about let the legals go and keep the illegals?
how wonderful. repeat killers and rapists who happen to be illegal will not be imprisoned?
well another dumb-assed idea.
Well how do you expect them to do the raping and killing Americans won’t do if they’re in jail?
Sheesh.
This is a big looming issue that threatens to bankrupt us that lags behind the upcoming bankruptcy of SS and Medicare.
Opening up our borders to the world’s, “tired and poor” threaten to make all of us tired and poor
A rising tide floats all boats but a tidal wave will drown us all.
Say a big “Thank you” once again to that towering judicial MORON, Thelton Henderson, who seems intent on destroying what vestiges remain of civilization in Cali.
Sooooo where’s that earthquake we’ve been hearing about for sooooo long that was going to rid us of Kalifornia by sending it in to the Pacific?
Releasing thousands of violent and irredeemable felons back into society is an outright betrayal of the trust between citizens and government. It not only insults the prior victims of these villains, it promotes the idea that the justice system is an expensive joke while crime is a feasible career choice with minimal repercussions.
Perhaps it’s time for extreme measures: cutting California from much of its Federal funding until it’s elected gets its financial house in order. This would mean shutting down sanctuary status and policies too many of its municipalities practice - which are in direct opposition to Federal laws anyway.
If California’s politicians insist on harboring illegal aliens while thumbing their collective nose at the rest of the nation let them sink or swim on their own power.
Other states are more than happy to accept California’s overtaxed productive citizens. Emphasis on citizens.
Removing state status from a corrupted entity holding such a huge bloc of electoral votes would put the rest of the nation back in balance. That’s extreme and impractical - I believe we need to revise that process.
Arnold needs to call Mexico City and tell them to pony up the dough to keep their people fed and housed in the jails. Otherwise, put them all in some crap-hole jail in the middle of nowhere and give them about 900 calories a day of the least expensive food he can get his hands on. Let them wither away until Mexico helps solve the problem.
Good points. Allow me to give a quote from a best-selling book on the illegal alien invasion: “The Golden Land is no more. An exodus comparable to that of the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s has begun. Fed up with rising crime and rising taxes to subsidize illegal aliens, they are leaving. California is going home to Mexico. Who can deny it? With 200,000 whites leaving California every year and 43 percent of all Californians under eighteen Hispanic, California is becoming - indeed, has become - a Third World state.”
We need more people like sheriff Joe Arpaio!
Article. IV., Section. 4., U.S. Constitution: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.”
All involved should be tried and hung in the public square.
I highly recommend they transport them 150 miles to the West, and release them.
Ping!
“Perhaps its time for extreme measures: cutting California from much of its Federal funding until its elected gets its financial house in order.”
The Feds will probably give Arnold a bonus for this boneheaded move. Now the entire state is a sanctuary city! UGH.
Actually I think what California is doing is to force the feds to prosecute them in the federal system. Re-entry after deportation is a federal offense with extra enhancements for previous felony convictions. California has been incarcerating them for a parole violation when the federal charge has more teeth.
The question is whether California will actually turn them over to ICE.
