If the 9th/10th Amendments no longer have any effect, then all of this is meaningless.

Sam: 200 years ago, no explanation would have been required, and any such explanation, if offered, would have been interpreted as superfluous at best and provocative at worst.

Today, by contrast, we need to hit them over the head with a frying pan just to get their attention. I think you understand.

"Your state motto is a joke."

No kidding. N.H. has become Massachusetts Lite! Up there they are waiting to see just how much the gasoline tax goes up here so they can index their own gas tax increase to insure a lower price for motorists from south of the border. Screwing their own citizens while Massachusetts residents get what is perceived as some sort of a "tax break."

I know folks who fled to New Hampshire because of taxes and then (presumably) vote for Liberal BS artists and Programs requiring greater taxation.

So much for the “Live Free or Die” state.

I suppose they could change it to 'Die' or 'Dead' now.

Aw gee! I can't believe, well, here goes....

Their State House is full of Rats? Rats travel in packs. They're betting that dear leader(King Rat) will be able to turn the USA into the USSA(United Socialist States of America) and they want to be in on the ground floor??? They at the very least want to wallow at the same trough. Long story short; they aren't practicing Americans. In the good ol' days they would have been frog marched to the wall at dawn to face a firing squad. But we have now become tolerant and civilized. Who needs it!

Excuse me for asking.

My sometimes odd sense of humor doesn't always come across that way. No offense intended.

This was NEVER going to pass in NH. Nor will it pass in any other socialist state.

Dont waste your time or energy on hopeless states. Put your energy into states where there is already a strong level of support for real freedom. California, washington, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon and any north eastern state are examples of states that will not be coming with us. They are the slave states. They are the anti freedom states.

I agree its almost impossible here in NH, though it will be the last to go in lib-boffo New England thanks to the largely volunteer legislature.

The Union Leader link to the cited article appears to be old now.

Can initial poster paste the article in please, and has the roll call been published (please post and ping me)?

I was there and found the closing argument by the libs ridiculous, citing a 1799 unanimous resolution that any disputes on state relation to the US Constitution should be via the NH judiciary. The simple and true answer is that such said judiciary (as ANY US-based judiciary, legislative body or executive before fill-in-the-blank year) would be horrified at the interpretations of the US Constitution held as “jurisprudence” etc by present day liberal Democrats, and it is precisely this “hyjacking” of “constitutionality” that must be fought by legislatures and the executive powers.

Here is Ridley Report on the rally:

NH nullificationists “desire to be in Union, but...”
